Just had lunch there on 11/15/25 with my family of five. Water tasted horrible. They put lemons in the water to hide the taste of the tap water and the lemons were fermented way too long. Tasted like we were drinking chemicals and the water color was hazy. The waitress made it right by bringing us Fiji bottled water.
Iced Matcha Latte drink was 99% milk, slight green color (presented in a green glass cup) but no matcha flavor whatsoever.
I asked for no sauce on burger and got extra sauce in the sandwich and on the side. The sauce on the burger made the bun soggy and very difficult to eat and keep together without the meat completely sliding out of the bun and then it completely fell apart.
Crepe was not served in a way that was easy to eat. The Nutella was firm and not spreadable.
Asked for plain pizza and received one with pepperoni.
We ordered truffle fries. Someone brought out fries and then the server did not realize and brought us a second order.
The tables were being cleaned with windex.
People were waiting to be seated for over ten minutes and there was 1/3 of the restaurant was full.
Only one bathroom and line was very long because non-customers were coming in specifically to use the bathroom.
Giving it higher stars for the cute atmosphere, but service and food definitely need some work.
Will choose another place next time we are...
Read moreYesterday, my 15-month-old daughter and I spent the day visiting New Hope. After an emotional week, we decided to stop at The Vanilla Café. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was amazing — you could tell that every detail of the space had been thoughtfully designed.
It was a busy Saturday afternoon during lunchtime, and after I sat down, a very kind young waitress came over to apologize that all of their high chairs were currently in use. Normally, that wouldn’t have been a big deal, but after a draining week — learning that my grandfather is dying of cancer — and a day that hadn’t gone quite as planned, I just broke down. I felt defeated and was ready to drive the three hours home.
The waitress was so kind and said she’d check the basement just in case there was another high chair. Then John, the manager, came over, apologized sincerely, and showed such compassion. His kindness was unmatched, and he went above and beyond to make things right — even though it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault at all.
We ended up leaving for about twenty minutes so I could collect myself, and when we returned, we had the most wonderful lunch. The food, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. What started as a hard moment turned into such a meaningful reminder of how a little kindness can completely change...
Read moreWe’ve really enjoyed this place the first time we dined in—my wife and I have raved about it for weeks. Naturally, we were excited to share it with our daughter. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a disappointment.
After placing our order, we were asked to move tables to accommodate another party. We were willing, but requested that the waitress have the other family shift their stroller to make space. For reasons unclear to us, the waitress chose not to but was totally fine to inconvenience us, and things became awkward from that point on.
From then on, our waitress never returned to our table, and the barista gave us cold, uncomfortable stares throughout the meal. My pizza never arrived, and I had to go to the counter to ask about it—only then did anyone realize it was missing. I was told it would be five minutes, but I watched the cook come out and start making it from scratch. When I asked about it again she had no choice but to admit he, the cook, forgot about it. To top it off, I noticed a half-eaten pizza sitting in the kitchen area.
Since no one came back to check on us, I had to return to the counter again just to order fries and dessert. It was a frustrating experience that sadly didn’t live up to the place we...
