Village Deaux — Restaurant in New Iberia

As usual, this place served me well. Their staff was friendly and courteous to me and their service was fast. In fact, I had to wait on a kolache (which I highly recommend) and the server told me it would be about five minutes, which was no problem. I was walking out the door in just three with my kolache in hand. Their donuts are divine, especially the maple bacon one. Probably terrible for your heart, but it's so good, it's worth the risk. Additionally, they offer several savory options including stuffed breads dubbed "Gator bellies", which make an excellent lunch, and their amazing kolaches, coming in all kinds of variety including boudin. It’s highly annoying when these restaurants get DoorDash orders, and wait until the driver gets there to make the order and waste the drivers time. .. when the order is placed DoorDash gives restaurants time to make the order before a driver is assigned.. within that time wouldn’t it be smart to actually start making the order??
