First of all, I can not believe it has taken me so long to get to this restaurant. I know, I know.I've heard everyone raves about these burgers, and normally burgers are not my go-to, number one order, type of girl. I gear toward the unusual burgers with blackening or peanut butter and jelly or blue cheese, those types of burgers. I like the oddball ones, like myself!
Last night, my brother, who is in from out of town, requested Five Guys. I said I would have a bite or two of my husband's and enjoy some fries. OMG! The burger was cheesy, not in the over the top Juicy Lucy style but just the perfect amount of gooey, with a pillow soft bun. Strong enough to hold up to the burger, too. A smattering of grilled onions were that touch of sweetness to cut the rich burger that I swooned over.
We ordered fries too, enough to serve an army came in the bag. I ordered the cabin seasoning on the side, but they came with it on them. Jared, the most smiley guy behind the counter, was fast to whip up a new batch. He was the kindest and not a moment without that high wattage smile either. I felt so bad that they had to remake the fries, but he said, "Not a bother." There is a sign for the location of the potatoes too. Like when you order an oyster! Great concept! The fries are like an old school Thrasher Fry, if you're familiar with those from out East. Fresh cut. Crisp and pillowy at the same time! Toss in some malt vinegar... I felt like I was back down the shore, Hon!
I would highly recommend going to grab a burger and fries any time! While the prices are a little steep, the quality is there, so you're definitely getting your money's worth!
I have to go back because I don't even have one photo. No soup...
Read more5 guys. You ready for this one? 5 guys have the best burgers, if you like taking out a personal loan for a burger. A week ago I ordered a double patty cheeseburger, small fry, grilled cheese sandwich and drink...for $22! Maybe I'm cheap, I like Aldi, but that's another review for a different day. As for the food, it is top quality and if you are a pop (or soda drinker outside of Chicagoland) the 2 Coke Freestyle Machines are a plus. If you like free extras, there are enough peanuts available that even Charlie Brown would be envious. The small fry is good for 2 people. If you order the large fry be prepared for jaw surgery with all of the chewing you're about to do. So onto the rating. I gave it a 3 for cost and ambience but a solid pick. Until next time this is Robbie the Review Guy wishing you and yours good eats...
Read moreGreat burgers reminds me of the old Fuddruckers because they have many topping you can put on. They put your toppings on and the burgers are smaller then Fuddruckers. The burgers and fries are both great and they have the good soda machines that you can mix the drinks with the touch screen. The BAD is the price a bacon cheese burger is over 9 dollars plus fries amd drink. I would say avarage price per person 15 dollars. Regular toppings are free lettuce, pickle, mushrooms sauces ect. Also all burgers are cooked the same way which is well done but they are still juicy and delicious! They have free peanuts which seems silly because the food is filling enough. But maybe for people that cannot afford the fries? Staff seems friendly music I like rock mix. This is not a place to get a burger to go. Eat their so you...
