I am a Navy Sailor and I will never bring my family nor any of my comrades to this location ever again. Our service from Jennifer the waitress was so shockingly upsetting and terrible and here's why. As soon as we were sat at our section, we were excited and happy to be there. We were honored by a family next to us who gave our table a hundred dollar bill towards our meal. As soon as that happened Jennifer joked and said "I hope that's a tip for me because I know you guys don't tip." Going along with the backhanded joke my buddy joked back "well I don't know I guess we will see." laughing it off. All of us serve in the US Navy so we were all put off by the comment; we are phenomenal tippers, but I digress. I then ask about drinks which was then responded with yet another rather rude remark stating "well if I plan on drinking to please remember that this is a family Resturant and I may have to cut you off early if you get to drunk". At this point my comrades all looked at each other and all became silent. I replied "...do I look like someone that seems unhinged?" she replied no but she just thought she'd let us know. In result none of us order any drinks. Time passes and we order our food, we try to have a good time going forward attempting to ignore Jeniffer's awful service. I then stop her in passing and ask her a question. My question was if she had anything against people who are in the US Navy because of her rude comments. She says no but she gets two young sailors who we could not identify (we will attempt to); visit Texas Roadhouse every week and get drunk just to not tip. She also emphasized that they are sometimes loud aswell. Now this I can sympathize with, I understand there are people out there (not only military) who are immature and young. But to mistreat us a full table at that, and to prejudge just because of the actions of other people is completely inhumane. Throughout that night it only got worse. At this point we were not having fun. One of my comrades even felt ashamed to be there and we all discussed how unwanted our presence felt. We wanted to get up and leave but we had already received appetizers and were concerned the kitchen had already cooked our food. We did not want to be responsible for Texas Roadhouse wasting food on our behalf so we stayed and took it. As Jeniffer passed us we received nasty looks back and forth. It felt unreal like a skit or a bad movie. We could not believe it whatsoever. Near the end of our time there she must finally picked up on how we felt so she attempted to make conversation with us but it was to little to late. This was almost two hours in.. Furthermore, the food took an hour and 20 minutes to reach us which wasn't the worst deal. and I gave in and just ordered myself one drink in which I was then denied a second drink (the drink took almost as long as the food did to get to our table). Now the food, was Great! I mean it IS Texas Roadhouse; but as I am typing this review, people all over our base have been hearing about this experience and will be avoiding this Resturant as much as it pains me this location just isn't friendly to military folk.. I have never felt Shame for serving my country anywhere until now...wow Even in this very moment I am still shocked. If she had given us the same service she gave the tables around us; that 100 dollar bill we received was 100% going towards her, and we would have tipped on top of that just because the 100 was a gift. But instead we tipped her about 45 dollars and to be honest she didn't even deserve that. But because we represent what we represent, We Did. ...
Read moreOur family went out for dinner tonight in celebration of my birthday. We arrived early to beat the Sunday dinner crowd, and arrived around 5pm. Of course, we were seated immediately, waitress (Melissa) was courteous, prompt and delightful. My husband and I ordered the rare prime rib, and my son, the fish and chips. When the food runner, brought our our meals, I knew right there, this was the straw that broke the camels back. We've been to this Roadhouse a total of 6 or 7 times (including tonight) since it opened October 2015. Each time I order the rare prime rib. Tonight was the 3rd time, in a row, our prime rib was another disappointment, when the prime rib was delivered cooked medium. I'm not one to send back the food, because it's a waste. I've been employed in the food industry for the entirety of my adult life, and being management in most every establishment I've worked in, I know I'd want to know when someone wasn't completely satisfied. So tonight, we sent our steaks back to the kitchen. The waitress that took the food back to the kitchen comes out and states " the kitchen says, that's the rarest we have currently, would you like to order something else?" I'm pretty sure my jaw was on the floor, I advised the waitress, we needed a moment to think about it. At that moment, a young woman came over and stated she was the manager on duty, and "was sorry about that, but my chef says that's the rarest prime rib they have right now. Is there something else I can get for you?" How come, there's a person in the kitchen, preparing my food, who doesn't care about the quality of product they make? That doesn't take PRIDE in the food they prepare? So are you telling me, that's it's ok to make a cut of meat, anyway you want, because that's all you have? So if well done was the only piece of prime rib you have, that's what you're going to send out (which is what happened during our last visit)??? Are you telling me, that the kitchen staff didn't say, "this customer ordered a rare piece of meat, and I don't have that available, maybe I should let the staff know", or the food runner that grabs the ticket to check the correct meal is on their tray doesn't say, "this isn't a rare piece of meat", and bring it to the attention of the kitchen staff? I am under that impression that no one seems to care about the quality of food provided. Food is supposed to tell a story, food is supposed to bring back childhood memories of loved ones, food is supposed to make you feel good. The last 3 times, our prime rib hasn't been rare. After discussion, we decided to not order anything else, pay for the drinks and my sons meal, and go home. Let down, disappointed, discouraged, and quite frankly, destroyed. The only way we could celebrate my birthday this year, feels ruined. And what do we get, $4.30 off our order. I can say I'll use this experience to benefit how I will run our own restaurant in the future, but I can't say I can find it in my heart to go back to this location. I just wish this Roadhouse, held it's kitchen and staff to the high standards we've come to know and love at other...
Read moreMy kids took me out for dinner for my birthday a few days ago. We were wearing birthday necklaces and I had a birthday pin on and my birthday was not recognized b y our waitress which was probably the icing on the cake for this whole experience. We were seated around 7:25 we ordered some alcoholic beverages and our meal by 7:35. We got our beverages no problem. Our waitress seemed very distracted and was not very overly friendly. It felt like she was just trying to quickly do the bare necessities and move on from us. Now about 8:05 our still did not come however the waitress did come over and remove our bread plates. But then returns with another basket of bread. At this point we knew something was going on. It was not until 8:30 almost a full hour since we ordered until our food arrived. If my son-in-law wasn't hungry all of our meals would have been sent back however the rest of them were aside from his because my steak was cold and chewy and the appetizer platter that my daughter's got was not hot and the cheese in the mozzarella sticks for pretty much solid again. We then spoke with our waitress about it who attempted to get a manager to come over which did take a long time. our waitress returned before that happened and we advised her that nobody had been over. when the manager did come over we expressed our concerns about our food she apologized and explained that they were short-staffed and they were having issues in the kitchen. Now at this point I would have liked to have known that something like this was happening while we were sitting there wondering why it took an hour for a steakhouse to make some steak. And then for our food to be cold was just too much for me. Now we basically, except for my son-in-law, left there hungry. it was my birthday there was no acknowledgement of that and nothing extra was done to make up for the fact that we were leaving hungry. I am actually very disappointed and upset that my birthday dinner was ruined and not much was made up for it. I just wanted to express all that so that when you are approaching your customers when there's an issue be a little bit more attentive to the fact that we were wearing paraphernalia that said happy birthday and it's my birthday on it and nothing was done and we were left hungry. And did I mention that there were three other birthdays in our section acknowledged while we...
