Cosimo's Bar — Restaurant in New Orleans

This is cool bar that seems to attract a dedicated cadre of locals and here you can usually escape the tourist hordes of the quarter. They currently rent out their kitchen to different vendors so you never know who might be running the kitchen and what they might be serving unless you research it. They used to have a really great burger here for years which was on the larger side and had some juicy deliciousness but of late they have had some vendors doing pizza and recently they added burgers to the selection. This is a dog friendly bar as it is right next to the dog park and so it attracts lots of dog lovers. The service is friendly and attentive along with often being entertaining. The prices are generally affordable and not the typical tourist rip off many places in the quarter have degraded into.

FYI: This is yet another of the bars that claims the notoriety of having had Lee Harvey Oswald as a frequent customer.

Loved this place!!

Cosmo's is what you hope for in an old fashioned bar. Great drinks and fabulous service in a suburban type bar.

The decor is traditional dark, glossy wood which gives you that homely comfortable feeling. Immediately relaxing and friendly.

The highlight are the amazing bar persons. Hunter and Ashleigh are super friendly and amazingly talented - their cocktails are top shelf quality.

Thanks so much Hunter and Ashleigh for backing a couple of old Aussies feel so welcome. You made the experience one to remember.

I went for the pizza. I would go back for the pizza. The 7 inch was enough for one person because the crust is between thin and thick but not deep dish. The any side items and a beverage it will be filling. I am aware New Orleans is not a hot bed of pizza but if you or people in your group are picking eaters this is great food. I don’t know if children are allowed in the bar. The bar had an unpleasant oder or maybe it was a patron. Music is controlled be the bar tenders I think so could be an issue for some people. The had a neighborhood feel to it as many locals where seated at the bar and other cycled in throughout my visit. Remember cash will get you a discount on food and drink.
