Nestled on Freret Street, this delightful neighborhood eatery has recently changed hands—and it’s one of my top choices for a laid-back meal. It’s ideal for when I want to treat family or friends to a casual dining experience without any hassle. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and the service is always warm and attentive. Whenever we visit, we typically kick things off with the appetizer sampler platter—it’s a fantastic way to sample a bit of everything and share with the group. It pairs beautifully with a couple of their cocktails or a chilled beer, making it easy to relax and enjoy. As for the main courses, we keep returning for the steak fajita salad and the chicken quesadillas. Both are reliably tasty, generously sized, and truly feel like comfort food.

This is quickly becoming our go-to for Tex-Mex. We've now been twice and had great experiences both times. So far, we've tried the birria tacos, enchiladas, burritos and nachos and all have been delicious! Healthy portions at a great price! They also have a tres leches cake with (I think) peanut butter dots on top that was so, so good! We were so sad when Del Fuego closed because I LOVED their arbol salsa, so I was super excited when my husband asked Luis the owner if they had a spicier salsa than the normal, and it was exactly the same as the one from Del Fuego! Please give this place a try - it's a great addition to the Freret Strip!

Very laid back restaurant which I loved! It was super crowded but the food was delicious and full of flavor! The staff was very accommodating and friendly! Only complaint was it was too hot in there for a Nola summer day.

Finally, an absolutely fantastic Mexican restaurant in New Orleans.

Incredible chips, incredible salsas, incredible food, incredible margaritas, incredible staff.

The previously top ranked “mexican” restaurants can’t even compare.
