The food was ok. This is the only BBQ place in the French Quarter so maybe the lack of competition results in a lack of effort- the place is empty most of the day but the 4.5 on google made us venture in. Pork is one of those meats that are flavorful on its own but easy to overcook. I found our portion to be dry… and they are SUPER stingy with the barbecue sauce… which it must be a thing to not actually put the sauce on the actual meat?! I don’t understand it… I thought the whole point of barbecue was to actually put barbecue sauce on the meat… but maybe it’s a NOLA style?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The beans, Cole slaw and fries were good- but the star of the show: the ribs were disappointing and tough.

However my biggest qualm with this place is the service. They have the RUDEST cashier! (I would put her name on blast but I am not going to). Of my ENTIRE time in New Orleans, this was the rudest and nastiest interaction I had, and more so because it was just so uncalled for. Her entire demeanor and customer approach from how she took orders or answered questions was off putting and her tone was downright nasty. This is unfortunate considering I am sure there is a lot of interaction with tourists that then leave (as I did) with a less than flattering impression. I don’t know if she was just having a rough day, but for an establishment that doesn’t see much foot traffic, being a minuscule of pleasant would have gone a long way and more so, it’s also inexcusable.

Nevertheless, the prices here are the most reasonable which perhaps is the reason for the rating- because on this trip I learned you can spent A LOT MORE to be equally if not more...

Let me start by saying...THE FOOD IS AMAZING! I got the pulled pork platter with all three sides (beans, coleslaw, macaroni & cheese). The platters are enough to split between two adults. Our friend had the tri-tip platter and the portion was huge, and amazing as well. Before you slather the pulled pork with BBG sauce might I recommend you just add the sweet pickles and onions. The meat is smoked to perfection and should be savored and enjoyed.

The beans and slaw were all great but let's talk about the macaroni & cheese. SWEET JESUS!!! The best Mac & Cheese I've ever had. I have a 6 year old so I've eaten a few cubic tons of Mac & Cheese and this will be hard to beat!

My daughter got the giant pretzel and only finished about half. It came with some delicious cheese sauce and mustard.

Overall Pig Out NOLA BBQ is a must visit. Sam was VERY hospitable, took time to talk to us and you can tell he's passionate about food. Remember that Mac & Cheese I mentioned? Well it's the owner's grandmother's secret recipe!

The restaurant is small but cozy, well decorated, CLEAN, with restrooms that are also clean and well maintained.

EAT HERE! It's a small business with personality, friendly staff and delicious barbecue. Not a chain restaurant that doesn't care about their patrons. Skip Mother's and all the other tourist trap dumps and treat yourself to Pig Out...

On vacation with my family in the French quarters. The kids said they wanted BBQ so I looked for a place n this popped up. Got there and for some reason the lady at the counter with dreads had an attitude. Asked her how many pieces of brisket comes to any order she said 3 to 4. Then I asked about the ribs she said 4 to 5 comes to an order. Also asked her if the beans contain pork her response oh I don’t know I haven’t seen any thing in them. So my wife and I ordered 3 of each platters thinking that would be enough for us and 5 kids. Then we realized there wasn’t any space for us to sit so we told the young lady the orders were to go. When they were ready she still put them on dine in plates. Her attitude got even worse when we said we had asked you to make them to go. There was a guy there I think was the chef very cool he sold us on the place because I was really close to asking for a refund. Because I just spend $150 on 6 plates of food n they look like kids serving of sides n the amount of meat. The worst part is they charged $9 for fries and gave me a mini portion. The food was ok. We really could have...

My wife and I were enjoying a college football game at Cuban Creations, next door to Pig Out. Our great bartender at CC shared with us that the BBQ at Pig Out is real deal, and that we can order from the Pig Out menu while we watch the game. We decided on the 2 meat plate and selected ribs and pulled pork as our proteins. The plate was served quickly and there was plenty of food for the two of us to share. It included all of our BBQ favorite sides-tasty corn bread, cole slaw, beans, pickles, and potato salad. The ribs were fall-off-of-the-bone juicy and finger licking good. The pulled pork was flavorful and perfectly cooked as well. All of the sides were on point, but if I could get that corn bread every day, I would have it! I can’t wait to eat here on our next visit-planning to try everything on their menu!
