Store may have nice items and authentic New Orleans good, but do NOT purchase anything as a gift for someone. They adhere strictly to their return policy and are of no assistance in terms of handling an exchange. Shop elsewhere, as often times, wedding gifts, shower gifts, gifts in general are exchangeable due to odd times that people receive things. In this example, my wife and I were away and unable to return the item to the store. We received said item from a close friend who resides in New Orleans and we reside in New Jersey. The item arrived and was broken. We received a beautiful platter, but the handle snapped off during shipment, or was broken upon shipment (more likely based on the condition of the boxes). My wife and I were then out of state for a while, had other health complications, and we did not contact the store immediately until things settled down and returned to normal. Their response, too bad. We can't do anything because it has been beyond 30 days. They advised me that I should just throw it out. How about that!?!?! My friend purchases a nice platter for our wedding gift and we are told to toss it in the garbage. Needless to say I would advise people to never shop here nor purchase anything from their store, particularly if you are shipping items. My advice, move on, shop elsewhere and tell everyone you know to do the same. In the interim, I am contacting my good friend in New Orleans (a prominent restaurant family) and making sure he spreads the...
Read moreBuyer beware. While Iâd agree with all the reviews noting that the products are a step above the usual tourist fare, the customer service response to even a minor issue was appalling. A product had been marked a certain price, and every box on sale showed that price. When I got my receipt I saw a massive discrepancy, charged twice as much as listed. When I pointed this out to them they got upset with me, grabbed all the items, and not only completely refused to even consider honoring the labeled price, but actually seemed close to trying to deny me a refund. In many states this would be illegal, but even if not, it was handled abominably disrespectfully and without any consideration. It was just terrible customer service. Maybe their reliance on tourists makes them not care about customer satisfaction, but it still very much matters. So itâs something any one else visiting should keep in mind, and maybe...
Read moreWas told about by a friend who lives in New Orleans. Found shop in French Quarter and selection of unique items was extensive. From small nicknacks to some larger items I did not explore. I was looking for some gifts to take home and was told of an item I easily found after asking one of the employees about it. I wanted some soup cups with southern style recipies on them, namely jambalaya, red beans and rice and sausage and chicken gumbo. Found them quickly and was happy with their appearance and sturdiness . If I get back to New Orleans again, I will try Very hard to make a trip back here to explore and find something I know I will treasure for...
