Having this whole courtyard basically to ourselves for a week was awesome…and a little creepy 😂 3 days in we asked the concierge if we were the only ones here because it was SO quiet! Apparently we just picked the slowest week of the season to visit 🤷‍♀️ #hotellemarais #neworleans #fyp #travel #anniversary

Do not stay here the housekeeping staff steals and are in a possible theft ring. Management does the bare minimum to help and you will have to hound them just to find out the cameras in the hallway magically don't work. They will gaslight you as well. The theft occurred the night of july 6th during essence festival weekend My makeup bag with emergency money was sitting on my made up bed before leaving for a concert. I do my makeup while sitting in bed and zip up the large toiletry bag - so none of the items are laid out. Also we did not have housekeeping service to makeup the bed during our stay- we received fresh towels handed to us by the housekeeper that morning. With it being so hot after brunch (2:30pm) we went back to the room- showered and did my makeup for the concert. We left out the room after getting ready, stopped at copper monkey then walked a block up to call our uber and take pics. Ordered the uber outside at 5:22. Our pics show a time stamp of 5:28pm. We returned from the concert at 12:20. Next morning on sunday july 8, i wake up take a shower put on my swimsuit and went to retrieve my face sunblock from my makeup bag and realized the bag was gone. I checked the room from top to bottom, under the bed, in the bed, my luggage, my friends bed and luggage, bathroom, safe, drawers, dark corners and even the trash can (although to big to fit in it), unpacked my large suitcase and then repacked it -we did this 3x. We then came to the conclusion it was clearly and undoubtedly taken from our room. Not only does the makeup bag have high end products and some unused products but emergency cash in it. There is only one elevator for all 5 floors and u have to have a key to access the elevator there are cameras in the hallways. Management dragged there feet to help and we're on the defense- also no professional introductions or titles given unless i asked who they were. People at the hotel and surrounding businesses told me this hotel is known for housekeeping stealing and there are reviews on other platforms that also confirm this. I don't take theft lightly or think it's funny. I can substantiate my times and locations very easily. No compensation was attempted or given - it seems to be brushed off by management. Do not stay here and if u must do not bring anything of value! Rest will in the pics if anyone wants to read in depth Location was ideal - in b/t bourbon and french quarter Small boutique hotel- rooms were clean and update Pool yard area was outdated and dingy No hotel bar, microwave or fridge No breakfast as advertised. Doors do not close properly to rooms Positives: Alesha and Pierre! These 2 are very professional and are doing there best! Had it not been for the theft i would have recommended this place based off their service. Pierre should be manager- he cares about his job and truly respects guest! I am beyond disappointed in my experience and this ruined my trip! It is a blessing to be able to travel so when i’m paying which gives staff members a job and i’m stolen from it’s insulting and disturbing. Makeup is not cheap, my money is not a game - shame on your staff for taking what does not belong to them Since the responder wants to be smart a timestamp that the door was closed at 6:37. The door was not properly closed - looked & sound as if it did upon us leaving at 5pm and your hotel staff thief entered the room without a key and closed it at 6:37. Get better doors and locks- along with staff. Should i post the door timestamps that shows when we entered the room! You refused to review the security cameras & then admitted they do not work. This hotel lacks accountability for their staff & know they have complaints about theft and luggage being searched while out the room

  • The one star is for the women who was very helpful over the phone at the front desk, or else there would be 0 stars. CALL MULTIPLE TIMES TO CONFIRM BEFORE YOU STAY

I called to cancel 2 existing reservations due to my moms initial experience with this hotel on 01/13. Extremely poor, but that is for her to write for this establishment.

I called the reservations help desk which is a separate entity from the hotel itself and the woman I talked to says the reservation under my name and phone number was already cancelled… however before today I had not called to cancel anything since there was no need. I had made both the reservations on 12/01 and she said I had made the reservations on 01/06 and cancelled them 1 minute later, with no further information provided. I asked her to double check the room confirmation number with what I had gave her and she said “No that is not the confirmation number, but it is you because it is the same name and phone number attached.” How does that make any sense!? When it wasn’t even the same reservation date or confirmation number. I asked her to send me an email of the cancellation confirmation and she said she could not because there was no email attached I told her I can give her my email and she can screenshot the cancellation which she said she could not do and things became extremely heated from there from her yelling at me to me yelling at her. Horrible on both of our parts honestly, and I am not proud to have treated this assistant poorly but it is extremely frustrating to have NO ANSWERS AND NO OPTIONS FOR A SOLUTION.

She finally gave me the front desk number to the actual hotel and the woman who answered there was surprisingly very pleasant! But oddly could not cancel the 2 reservations from her end which did indeed show on her end that both of these reservations had NOT been previously canceled with the same confirmation numbers I tried giving to the reservation assistant… So I am extremely confused as to HOW the reservations assistant could not see my current reservations and would not bring mine up on the original confirmation as this front desk clerk at the hotel did. Anyway I had to call Dauphine which is a popular sister property. She happily gave me the number and mentioned to me that I should call in the morning and ask for Deborah.

I took a chance to see if Deborah had been in at The Dauphine but when I asked the gentleman on the phone that I wanted to cancel and speak to Deborah he took over the cancellation process and with a DEFINITE attitude canceled BOTH reservations stating a confirmation has been sent to my email. I have not yet received any type of cancellation confirmation and it has been 30minutes. I let him know I will call back indefinitely until I receive a WRITTEN cancellation notice from this establishment.

Whoever was working the reservations hotline at 4:21pm on 01/14 I am sorry for raising my voice with you. However, the way you presented my reservation information when it was indeed NOT cancelled was unacceptable.

To the gentleman working at the Dauphine Orleans at 4:36pm on 01/14 your customer service was EXTREMELY lack luster and I will do good on my word and call EVERY DAY until I am past my reservation dates if I do not get a confirmation email stating in writing this was cancelled.

Stay tuned for my moms review. Unfortunately a poorly run establishment. I hope to hear from...

Where do I start with this review? We checked in on 9/20/25. ||LOCATION: |Location was PERFECT. On Conti Street, about 100 steps to Bourbon street to your right and Royal Street (where there are a lot of restaurants) to the left. Cafe Beignet was right around the corner for Coffee, breakfast and beignets. Close to everything. 8 minute walk to Canal Street, French Market, Jackson Square. I was surprised with how easy it was to get around. The Royal Sonesta is across the street. I'm glad we stayed at Hotel Le Marais, as it was a small boutique and friendly hotel. ||HOTEL:|We were welcomed with a smile, easy check in process, although there was a bit of confusion as there were two reservations. Didn't think anything about it until we checked out. |Lobby was cute and quaint, and super cold! Which we liked since it was probably over 90 degrees and to us Californians, HOT! |Hotel Room was very clean. |Small swimming pool area in the courtyard. |Daily cleaning was available and we usually opt out on daily cleaning. I asked for extra towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion and received it quickly. |Plenty of space in our room and we had a balcony facing the street. |There are good and bad things about having a room facing the street. |Good thing is I loved people watching and enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. |The bad thing is... well on a Saturday Night, the party continues till 6am and you can hear it all. The music, the sirens, the people, the cars, etc. I would probably do it all over again! |Bed was comfortable, there was a sitting are and a desk for our laptops. |AC was running fabulous! No issues. |Coffee in the room and two bottles of water when we arrived. Would have loved more water, as it was $3 for a 16ounce water bottle at the stores. |Overall value is excellent. ||CUSTOMER SERVICE: |When we checked out, the system was down and I was given a receipt to pay for the full hotel stay. Apparently there were two reservations. One that I had prepaid and one that was not prepaid. Because system was down, they would not be able to resolve the issue at that moment. |My thought was that I would have to fight the additional charges with the credit card company, HOWEVER to my surprise, Almeta called and left me a voice mail, indicating she had looked into the charges and discovered I was double booked and could have been double charged. |Very rarely have I encountered proactive hotel staff who are proactive in looking at a customers bill and RESOLVING it!! |What a huge relief!!! Thank you Almeta, you are a ROCKSTAR. |Everyone at the Hotel Le Marais was friendly, helpful and beyond my...
