This much-anticipated dinner, unfortunately, turned out to be a significant disappointment. The restaurant itself is charming, and we were seated at the back. However, the tables are so tightly packed that we had to disturb the guests at the neighboring table just to squeeze into our seats. While the ambiance was pleasant and I appreciated the Sade music playing in the background, the overall experience left much to be desired.
The cocktails were decent, but the cabernet wine was surprisingly poor in quality. The food was enjoyable, but itâs hard to overlook the fact that after spending nearly $200 per couple, we left the restaurant still feeling hungry. What truly ruined the evening was the service, which completely killed the mood and made us want to leave as quickly as possible.
On a Monday night, with the restaurant half-empty, the service was inexplicably slow. Our waitress barely checked on us, didnât ask if we wanted additional drinks, and offered no effort to engage or make us feel welcome. The lack of attention made the experience feel unprofessional and left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.
While the garden is visually lovely, the strong smell of cigar smoke was overwhelming and detracted from the atmosphere. Sadly, I cannot see myself returning. For the price, I expect an experience where I feel valued and welcomedânot one that leaves me disappointed and...
Read moreThe most pleasant part of my experience was the young AA hostess. I was told that, due to my outdoor seating, the protocol required me to order from the bar. I patiently waited for 10 minutes, though it seemed like an hour before anyone acknowledged me. Unfortunately, things only got worse from there. My appetizer and entrĂ©e were brought to me at the same time by a busser. To make matters worse, my market-priced fish entrĂ©e was cold, and both dishes were mediocre at best. After going to the bar again, as the "protocol" dictated, to pay my $153 tab, I realized that I had never been approached by a waiter or waitress. Instead, I received an apology from a person who witnessed this fiasco. This is New Orleans, where great food is everywhere, so the only reason to choose a restaurant like Chloee is for a fine dining experience. Unfortunately, this was a self-serve nightmare with mediocre food and virtually no service. As a native New Orleanian working in hospitality, I can confidently say this was the worst experience Iâve had. I'm sorry to say that I will not return, nor will I recommend Chloee to...
Read moreThe Chloe absolutely delivers. I stopped in for a bite and ordered the burger and dumplingsâboth were spot-on.
The burger was next-level: juicy, perfectly cooked, and stacked with melty cheddar, crisp shredded lettuce, and a toasted bun with a great crunch. The side of fries hit the mark, and the trio of dipping sauces (especially that aioli) made everything even better.
The dumplings were another standoutâdelicate wrappers stuffed with a flavorful filling, topped with crispy bits, fresh cilantro, and a rich chili oil sauce that had just the right kick. Unexpected for a burger-and-dumpling combo, but it workedâand then some.
The wait staff was very attentive and otherwise excellent.
The atmosphere is relaxed but refined, with that cool Uptown New Orleans charm. Whether youâre here for a casual lunch or a cocktail-fueled dinner, The Chloe feels like a hidden gem youâre glad you...
