UPDATED REVIEW: I really wanted to like this place. I went back 8 months after they opened to try to eat here. It was a slog. I think they forgot about my order. The two tables that ordered before and after me had eaten, cleaned their tables, and left before I got my food. I got my pizza about 45 min after I ordered it in the restaurant. I had to get an employee's attention to get my food. She then talket to the other counter worker, then went to the kitchen to discuss my order. It appeared 10ish minutes after she "checked."
They forgot a side and I had to go back up. I did like the Caesar dressing, the crust, and the toppings were good... I thought. Then my daughter projectile vomited in the backseat of my car on the way home after eating here. My stomach was also upset the next day. This was a disappointing Mother's Day dinner out 👨👧🤮.
This place is not for me and my family. I clearly believe in the restaurant and wanted it to work.
I also appreciate Zander replying to my previous review. He was not in the restaurant when I went. They expected him but it was not in the cards.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: The woman behind the counter was snarky and rude. "We will get there together even if it takes a while..." They don't answer the phone so I drove over for takeout. After a difficult ordering process she said and the wait was 1.5 hours to get a pizza. I think you should lead with that information.
This is the second time I've come and left empty handed.
I wish I would have had a better experience. I was one that added this place to Google maps and all of the original images.
I will update when I finally get a chance to...
Read moreDear Google,
It’s been years now since I’ve last left a review. I’ve had experiences that may have warranted feedback, however nothing compelled me to offer it; until tonight.
I’m telling you this now, in the hopes to not only diverge unsuspecting patrons in the right direction, but to correct the very wrongs of my past.
Zee’s Pizza is the best pizza in New Orleans. Period. After having a less than stellar experience at some place I can’t quite remember the name, maybe it was Pizza Harmonica? I can’t remember because I’ve blocked the experience from my memory and I’m finally starting to come to.
Anyways, I’m here to talk about Zee’s. We got the Bambino (pepperoni, Italian sausage, fresh mozzarella, onion, home runs, World Series championships). We were given 3 sauces; Mike’s hot honey and indeed it was hot baby, a ranch so good it’s fabled that it actually started The Trojan War, and a hot sauce that I liked also.
Huge portions of pie, you get what you pay for. Mountains of crust. If you enjoy skiing this is the pizza for you. If you don’t enjoy skiing, this is still the pizza for you.
We haven’t finished the pizza yet. We had to slow down to write the review. We’re also just scared that the end is near. And just like Christmas Eve, you long for presents in the morning, but you’re sad when it’s all over. Our plan is to ration 1 bite per hour no exceptions. Alarms have been set (rations pictured).
In conclusion, there’s nothing more to be said. Go and get Zee’s pizza, any of Zee’s pizza’s. They are surely all...
Read moreThis was an absolute shock to me and possibly the best find of this trip. I had great oysters, excellent po boys, a cool steakhouse concept, killer sausages, and nothing could prepare me for this. We found NYC style pizza in New Orleans!!! What???
Opening the door to Zee’s Pizzeria I knew immediately that it was going to be good. The scent that smacks you in the face was the pizzeria’s of my youth. To say I was surprised would be an extreme understatement. The girl who helped us at the counter was very friendly and so was the guy who brought the pizza to the table. Cool little shop with old signs and stuff from around the area.
Pepperoni Pizza was in the ballpark of $21 and a Peroni was $5. I was perfectly okay with both prices for what we got. The peroni was ice cold and had zero detection of skunk city (I get concerned with green bottled beers sometimes) and this pizza was just … wow.
The crust was crispy and delicious. The sauce was not overly sweet and it had a good amount of it. The cheese was tasty, and they tossed a little Parmesan over top of the pepperoni. This was seriously such a find. I saw they do pies with ricotta dallops and other fun toppings so I’m certain to go back next trip and try those out.
Needless to say - Zee’s Pizzeria - Didn’t Suck!
