Funday's, The Root Beer Stand — Restaurant in New Philadelphia

I have only recently started going to Funday's as of summer of last year. I've enjoyed just about every visit. Their pricing could be a little cheaper on some items, but overall, a great stop in the spring and summer. My last visit, first of the season -- not impressed. The waitress wasn't all that friendly, which whatever, maybe she wasn't having the best day...but when she proceeded to bring my order, she spilled one of our rootbeers all over me and the inside of my car! I didn't get angry or upset with her, stuff happens sometimes. But what did I get in return? A half-hearted apology and a damp wash cloth, as I sat half wet and sticky, covered in rootbeer. At least they replaced the rootbeer? 🤷‍♀️ I don't like to complain or be one of those people who requests the manager, so I didn't say much. I would think in the food business, they could at least reimburse you, give you a free meal or something for spilling part of your order over you and the inside of your vehicle. Every job I've ever worked, we go above and beyond to make up for our mistakes when it's at the cost of the customer. I wasn't happy with this visit or the overall treatment from the staff...and I still tipped well. Don't expect much from this place. I don't think they care much about...

Wanted to try this place with my kids, as they are finally back open and under new ownership. The service was great. Waitress was prompt and friendly. Root beer floats were good, but overpriced. The food was mediocre at best. Coney sauce was weak and needs dialed in. Pizza burger was over cooked and flat out terrible. No marinara on it, or any effort put into it. I mean it's not rocket science grilling a frozen pizza burger patty and creating a presentable sandwich. Mushrooms were cooked in old oil. If you've worked in a kitchen, you know the difference between good and old deep fryer oil. Ultimately I got 2 hot dogs, mushrooms, fries, and pizza burger, with 3 root beer floats for $45 after tip. If you want the most mediocre of food at a marked up price, give it a shot. Hoping the new owners read this and get their cooking abilities together. Especially for the price point they're charging. This incarnation of Funday's will be as short lived as past ownership if the kitchen...

I wish this place would stop messing with there classic sandwich and the root beer few years ago it was the greatest place to go but me and my family went there today to get our favorites once again and today was grossed out and up set me and my hubby's favorite sandwich here is the 57 Chevy and they turned it in to a normal sandwich it looks like a rip off of a big Mac and they know call it a cheese burger I don't see why to ruin there best sellers it looked very sloppy and it was very gross 😢 and don't get me started on the root beer past 2 years it just taste like sugary brown syrup and today was very upsetting that was one of our biggest things to buy here we wait months just to get a nice cold home made root beer we would buy 2 at a time and I don't think we will ever be back again. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with adding new things to the menu or taking out not good sellers but why really mess up the biggest ones and the reason to go to the...
