Where do I begin?! I stumbled upon this bakery one day while I was dropping off a package at the UPS store that is right nextdoor to it. I had no clue there was a bakery here but once I looked up & saw a sign that said "Bakehouse" I knew I had to go in, & man am I glad I did😋

I work a few minutes down the road from here & because I have broadcasted my obsession about this bakery at work, now everyone at my job is obsessed as well😂 Their chocolate almond croissants are hands down one of the BEST croissants I've ever had. After that, I would rank the carrot apple muffins & raspberry cheese danishes as the best breakfast pastries I've ever tasted. My husband who isn't even the biggest fan of baked goods & sweets, is absolutely addicted to the 3 I just listed & now bugs me to bring them home after work! I’ve created a monster 😆 I've also tried the vanilla sprinkle cake as well as the blackout cake & they were both delicious. You can just tell everything is fresh & top quality here If you're in the area & in the mood for an AMAZING pastry, danish, muffin, you name it, you HAVE to stop here. It will NOT disappoint. This place is dangerously close to my job that I am here at least once a week now- you've been warned, once you try this place you will be hooked!

Not to mention the inside is clean & easy to navigate. I've found that sometimes bakeries can be overwhelming when you step inside, but not this one. The girls behind the counter are also so sweet & inviting (shout out to Savannah...

So Grok 4.0 told me that there was only one bakery that was just as good as Mia's Brooklyn Bakery. I learned one important thing. Grok has no taste buds. I went here specifically for their blackout cake. 37 minutes from my home. Now on an early morning Saturday or Sunday, I can get to Mia's Brooklyn Bakery in 27 minutes. Negatives are the tolls I'd have to pay to get to Brooklyn from New Jersey. But once again, Mia's remains thee best Blackout cake I've had in the tri-state area. As for the Bakehouse. Yes the blackout cake was similar. But I would have to cut the top and back of the slice off for that to be the case. The top and side have a hard texture as if it were made with Oreo cookies. The cake it self, even though similar to Mia's has a weird after taste. It by no means give me the pure pleasure of Mia's. We also tried a white cake with sprinkles. Too much cream and too little cake. Disappointed. I feel like the cake from BJ's taste better. Three ladies were behind the counter and they were pleasant, all smiles and respectful. Great staff! 2 out of 3 of these staff members seemed to be freezing. The place was like standing in a refrigerator but that's no complaint of mine. Not in there long enough to complain about that. Once again we had a hard pass on the chocolate mousse cup. Not to the level I'm use to. Sheesh, I wanted to love the place but I'll take the shorter drive and tolls to get the best. So Mia's, I'll see you soon. Sorry Bakehouse, we won't be back. No...

We ordered a customized half sheet chocolate mousse cake to celebrate my son's last home swim meet with the team and Bakehouse made it to perfection. After the meet (we won!) we had over 40 people waiting for the swimmers to come out of the lockers so we could cut the cake, celebrate and go home. Well, the seniors didn't get the memo and we waited, and waited and waited. Some of the spectators were getting restless and I'm sure wondering if they should just go. I wasn't worried though because after more than a year of eating, sharing and gifting this cake to family and friends throughout NY and NJ, I knew I had an ace in my pocket and they wouldn't be disappointed. Sure enough, after finally corralling the seniors and our photos, we served the cake and I watched carefully as the guests took their first bite. Seeing their raised eyebrows, nodding of the head and glowing smile, I knew it was worth their wait. After the expected requests for seconds (of course) and to take a piece home for their family (again of course), soon enough the sheet was gone and even the crumbs didn't have a chance. Thank you Joe Murphy and Bakehouse for making our swim event celebration a memorable one. Out of 5 stars, I...

I happened upon this spot while waiting for my daughter to come out of lacrosse practice. We are not from the area and I was starving so I looked up coffee shops to get a quick bite. Bakehouse did not disappoint. I was greeted by friendly servers who were extremely helpful and kind. I inquired about the avocado toast since I had seen great reviews and didn’t see it advertised in the store. The cashier informed me he would have to asked the baker if it could still be made. The staff went out of their way to ensure I was happy and let me tell you the avocado toast was A-MAZ-ING!!! The bread was fresh, soft and warm on the inside with a great crunchy crust. The cheese and olive tampanade on top was chef’s kiss and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I also purchased a few baked goods including 2 cookies, a carrot muffin, a mini-cheesecake and a stroganelle. Every dessert was on-point and I unfortunately didn’t get a picture of any of the bakery items because my family housed them as soon as I got home. Highly recommend this establishment for their great service, excellent food, and fresh ingredients! I’ll certainly be back!
