Bellariva Trattoria & Pizzeria — Restaurant in New Providence

Oh man,I was like," With the evil virus going around what kind of pizza pie is it going to be? I was just about to bet 20 with my friend that it would wind up being, ketchup and like Vienna sausages for the meat. Because I have literally ordered a pie from an "Italian ",restaurant (no names to protect the innocent)and when the hearse arrived a long haired guy gets out looking like criss Angel and my son said, um ma,there's a vampire at the door holding a pizza box..I was already seeing this from the window, he had bailed down the stairs yelling cool.I am going nooo not cool. That's when I realized when they say delivery, you never know who is actually delivering it. Preferably Jonny Depp.The kid was on his way to band practice the hearse was the name of the band. Awful customer service over the phone. I called to place an order for my entire family. The gentleman who answered the phone from the beginning sounded like he had no desire to be taking calls. He took my order, repeated it to me, it was correct. He proceeded to ask my address for delivery , I provided my address. He tell me “ we do not deliver to Warren only New Providence “ and proceeds to hang up ! I was about to say that I would go pick it up but he never gave me the chance before hanging up on me. I know they don’t only deliver to new providence because my parents live in Berkeley heights and they order from there all the time. I proceeded to call back to let him know I was willing to pick up my order before he so rudely hung up. He tells me “ then come pick it up if you want “. To say this place has gone belly up would be an understatement. Which is sad because there was a time where the staff were very friendly and the food was good.

Now it seems every time I go there, I am disappointed and depressed. Hardly anyone is in there now and for good reason. The food has become terribly bland and the staff legit do not care. Even if you were to order a slice, it'll come out molten hot and flavorless.

After having gotten food poisoning from their rancid pasta TWICE, I can safely say Bella Riva has become a real toxic dump.

If by some chance you're in the area, please, save your money and go somewhere else.

Hell, I'd even recommend Olive Garden over this pathetic excuse for Italian.
