Have eaten twice at the Pastrami House Deli in New Providence. The sandwiches are excellent. Our first visit several months ago was outstanding, the older gentleman behind the counter talked to use about the restaurant, and recommending several side dishes we would enjoy. Second visit was not so good. We stopped by late on a Sunday afternoon to get a sandwiches. Young man behind the counter was very courteous, but seemed a bit more focused on his phone than on our food ordered. My fault for not checking the bag of before heading out, but when we arrived home we had our sandwiches, but none of the condiments, etc we had asked be included with the sandwiches, including a few items that were supposed to be part of the sandwich orders. Will definitely visit the Pastrami House again as the food is excellent but, word to the wise, check your takeout order...
   Read moreGreat spot for an excellent Pastrami sandwich. Nice atmosphere and everyone working there was so upbeat and helpful. They even wrote fun messages on my take out boxes - so cool! I had mistakingly called the other location and when they realized my mistake, the fellow on the other end of the phone proactively took charge and called my order in to the location near me. Amazing - especially in this day and age of complacency and the usual bare minimum, low effort approach. Fully dressed w/ russian dressing and coleslaw, piled to the ceiling on rye bread, this sandwich is to die for. Everyone working there is super friendly and eager to assist, and when my party of 6 entered the establishment we were provided samples of the pastrami to try without even asking.
