Apple Pancakes for breakfast! These Apple Pancakes are a staple at Walker Bros. Pancake House in Willmette, IL!! Have you ever seen something like this? 🙌🏼🙌🏼👇🏻 4 servings Batter: 2 tsp clarified butter 4 oz. skim (fat-free) milk 2 oz. heavy whipping cream 5-6 large eggs 1/4 cup powdered sugar 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp salt Dash (1/8 tsp) nutmeg Apples & cinnamon sugar 3 1/2 Tbsp unsalted butter or ghee (clarified butter) 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/4 in slices 3 1/2 Tbsp dark brown sugar 2 1/2 Tbsp superfine suger 2 3/4 tsp ground Saigon cinnamon 1/4 tsp -ish cornstarch (to help clumping of sugar/cinnamon 1. Beat eggs until foamy by hand or mixer, add milk and cream until blended. 2. Sift flour, powdered sugar, salt and nutmeg together in a bowl. Gradually add flour mixture to egg mixture until well blended (about 2 minutes). Let rest for 15 minutes 3. Meanwhile, heat oven to 300 degrees. If you have two ovens, heat one to 300 degrees ad one to 425 degrees. If not, we will start at 300 and turn the heat up later. 4. Melt 1 Tbsp butter into a 10 or 12 inch oven-safe skillet over medium heat; add apple slices. Cook, turning occasionally, until apples begin to soften, but not brown - about 4 minutes - then transfer to a bowl. 5. Stir together brown sugar, fine sugar, and Saigon cinnamon in a small bowl. Add cornstarch, if using, and blend thoroughly with a fork. 6. Melt more butter in the oven proof skillet over medium heat, swirling/brushing to get butter up the sides of the skillet. Add 1/2 of the sugar/cinnamon mixture to the pan over the butter. Line the pan with the apple slices and add the remaining cinnamon sugar over the apples, shaking the pan as necessary to distribute the sugar over the apples. Once the mixture is bubbling, gently pour the batter over the apples. 7. Place skillet in the 300 degree oven for 15 minutes. The batter will start to cook, thicken and rise. 8. After the initial cook, transfer skillet to the 425 degree oven for another 12-15 minutes. If using one oven, raise heat to 450 degrees for same 12-15 minutes. Either way, bake until the pancake puffs and the edges begin to brown, adding a few more minutes if needed. Remove and flip carefully into a large plate and enjoy! #breakfastideas #applepancakes #walkerbrotherspancakehouse #breakfasttime #Pancakes

📍Walker Bros My absolute fave brunch spot ever and I’m not even a breakfast person 😮‍💨 Savory > sweet always, but they seriously kill it at both. You need the spicy habanero cheese + pico hash browns (extra crispy!!) and the crispy crunch French toast 🤤 I also always get the bagel w/ cream cheese, I know it’s basic, but the whipped cream cheese just hits 🥯🫶🏽 #WalkerBros #ChicagoBrunch #DineWithPooj #ChicagoSuburbs

I am doing a review on my experience on Sunday 26, that I had at 11: 27 am with a worker at the front desk. My words and my thoughts are true, what I an writing about happened to me. The incident, has caused me, to write, so others don't get the same treatment. No one deserves to be mistreated, or disrespected.

Walker Bros is not the same like it use to be. The servers there, and the people at the front desk, makes it displeasureable to go, to eat and enjoy the food. Today, I came to get breakfast, I walked in the front doors and at the counter, I told a woman who was black with redish hair, in a short pony-tail and who wore eye glasses, that I wanted to take out food. She acted, like she didn't know, what I was talking about, as she kept having me, to repeat it over and over. She then yelled at me, and said "THEN GET SOMEBODY ELSE, TO HELP YOU!! And she then walked away, from me, from behind the counter. Another woman, with eye glasses on, helped me I asked her fo, the manager, which she said she was.

The black woman who yelled at me, kept whispering to her about me, when I did nothing wrong, I just asked to take out food for breakfast.

After the incident happened, I was so upset. I cried in my car on the way home, unable to calm down from being hurt emotionally by this person. It was hard for me, to concentrate, on the road.

Never, should I have experienced negative treatment, like this, at a restaurant, but mainly by a person, another human being, who I saw as an unhunan being who lacked, the ability, to understand, what customer service, or the job, to work, to help and provide good customer service, good food service to a customer, to serve a customer with respect and dignity.

I have been a long time customer at this restaurant who comes with my mom to eat breakfast here together, to talk, about our day and our troubles.

Another server even knows us personally, when we come here, but never again, will I be, supporting this restaurant.

I will be telling my mother, what happened,. She will be greatly upset and angry. This woman is lucky, that my mother or my father, was not here, because they would have, let her know, not to mess with their daughter, because of my kind heart and kind nature.

This woman knew, that I was asking to take out and made me feel uneducated and looked down upon me.

This woman made me hate this place with all my heart, because of how she mistreated me, and nothing was done about her behavior, nothing was done, to make, this person, who is suppose to work, and assist, those who come to eat and dine with respect.

I am going to make sure that I get this woman's name tomorrow and to make sure that other's know about her behavior, that she is an unkind human being who doesnt deserve to work if she can't...

Visiting Chicago area on Nov’ 23.

Worked out at a gym in early morning nearby, decided to stop by Walker Bros Pancake House for breakfast as I saw lot of rave and good reviews about it.

I ended up ordering the Apple Cinnamon Pancake, which was highly rated and recommended by others.

My thoughts?

Well, this dish, someone called it heaven-on-a-plate.

I call it, early-death-on-a-plate.

For pure indulgence, is it spot on? Oh, absolutely.

If you are someone that enjoys an overload or rather overkill of sugar and maple syrup and cinnamon without any added benefit of taste, and toppings of apple slices which are sugar coated and layered with sweet taste of sudden, inescapable heart attack and early onset diabetes.

Criticism aside, this OK once in a while, my good sir / homie? Oh yessir, absolutely. Once in like a half-year, don’t trouble the doctor, A-OK. I approve heartily.

Though honestly, even layered with the sugary goodness of early death, the Apple pancake wasn’t too tempting, and didn’t “wow” me much. Yes, it’s sugary, yes it’s decent, but it’s not home run wowza.

I ate about half to three quarters. I couldn’t finish it all, too much sugar and fat/carb overload. I gave up. But it was good adrenaline rush and insta spike to blood sugar, while it lasted. I only hope and pray this pancake did not damage my system too much. This is crucial to me as I was once pre-diabetic. But we’ll see, I guess.

All in all, decent breakfast spot, I dunno if I order same thing again, at least not alone cause I know now i can’t finish it in one go. If you wanna try it, I would somewhat half heartedly recommend, but be wary and only try this once in a blue moon or so. Trust me, too much of this stuff (sugar) not good for you.

But yeah, for first time experience, overall that hit the spot and...

to preface - I feel like delicious, affordable breakfast is easy to find at places like these. for me, there are two big things that separate good breakfast diners from great - service and cooking eggs right. this place blew me away in not only these two areas - but all else as well. when you enter, this place is filled with decorative stained glass, detailed wood designs and just lovely interior. the energy is fast and friendly, but also peaceful with how much space you get to yourself when you seat. first thing got was some coffee, and they have a delightful roast. i think i had like 3 cups lol. we ended up getting the apple cinnamon pancake and the walker bros combo. for the combo, we got blueberry pancakes, with hash browns and sunny side up eggs with bacon. holy s- man these pancakes are delicious. the blueberries sauce taste fresh as can be and the pancakes are a great fluffy texture. the hash browns are crispy (i would add salt and pepper tho) and the egg was cooked to perfection, i couldn’t have been happier how nicely runny and creamy the yolks were. the bacon was also tasty (just bacon tho). the apple cinnamon pancake was MASSIVE and man i understood why not i couldn’t sub it in the walker bros combo. this plate was much bigger than my head. the pancakes are deliciously topped and are a bit more textured than the thin pancakes. they melt in your mouth almost like a cinnamon roll. the ice cream is a bit overkill but man it sure does make a delicious addition if you are a fan of sweets. and best of all, the place was ran like a well oiled machine, with the friendliest staff there could be, i hardly felt like there was any wait for service. loved my trip here and i...
