Paper Source — Local services in Evanston Township

My review is not about the Evanston store it’s about their overall customer service. I was given a gift card for a new address stamp. Since I no longer live near a Paper Source I wanted to use the entire $$ and avoid paying for S&H.

Here is where things turn bad - the journal is from 2020. (The review is 2/3/21) I called customer service. I was first told that I could keep the journal and they would credit my gift card but there was an issue since I paid all but $1.00 with a credit card for the balance and they would need to issue the full amount in a gift card. That doesn’t make sense.

I asked if there was another solution? At this point I should have agreed because when the manager got involved I was told that it was my fault that I didn’t notice online that it was a 2020 journal. What?! Full price and last years - shame on your store!

Then at the end of 30 minutes call, I was told to call back next week to get a FedEx label for the return because they were having issues with fedex?! And then a check would be sent.

I said forget it that I have already spent too much time and am too frustrated over how this has been handled. So now I am keeping a 2020 gratitude journal for myself which was intended as a gift for a friend.

Trust me an entry will not include “I am grateful for how Paper Source...

Love Paper Source. This location had a great selection and awesome staff. I love the paper sheet selection and how unique they are. They also have the best gift boxes.
