I went to the bakery on Saturday and order a custom cake for my boyfriend's birthday on Tuesday. I asked if they could have the cake ready by 8 AM that day and they told me that was manageable. I let them know I had to go to work after, and they reassured me that they open at 5 AM so there was nothing to worry about. I showed up today an hour late from my pickup time only to be told that my cake was not ready and would not be ready for at least another hour. I explained again that I had to get to work. They offered me a different flavor cake that was already made that my boyfriend does not eat. I expressed how frustrated I was and even walked out. They apologized but honestly someone could have called me and told me early this morning and I could have made another arrangement. Now I have no birthday cake for my boyfriend's birthday party. My girlfriend ate 1 ham n cheese empanada and half hour later she was picked up by an ambulance. After eating the empanada she received a fever her blood pressure dropped dramatically ! She was found with hypertension and life threatening allergies in what she ate. She was being checked in the ambulance and the actual Presbyterian hospital for more than 6 hours before she was discharged this morning. She ate the empanada last night before getting picked up in the ambulance. Please watch what you guys eat from here. Hey firstly in this area most ppl speak Spanish and if you don't you are screwed which kinda sucks for one, but at the same time when you come here It would be nice to at least know orders, and items in English too. I saw the comment about the ladies possibly being prejudice and although I don't disagree, some may come off that way. I think it is just the language gap. Some Dominicans are even darker than some black people, myself included because of their African ancestry so understanding the roots is equally important. I think for the people who don't understand Spanish they should at least learn the Spanish equivalent to what they want to order, as well as the women know some English to understand equally the same.
