Had hoped that this taqueria would be as good as the reviews… unfortunately, I would assume, the reviews in many cases come from people who have low standards for food quality and taste… the 15 taco tray took about 40min to get served, supposedly a 2L soda came with this order (only for deliveries though) so no issues with the extra for the 2L Jarrito. The real issue here was the long wait and the nearly cold tacos after such long wait (on an empty place?), the overcooked carne asada and almost dehydrated pastor meat (carnitas were only tender since they are more like slow cooked), not to forget that the garnishing vegetables (Cambray onions/Nopales) were quenched in vegetable oil that tasted more like motor oil… I asked the lady, who took our order, what kind of oil is used for preparing the vegetables and how long they re-use it?… a bit inconvenienced she replied: I think mazola (I replied Mobil-1) and she responded well that is up to the cook, it doesn’t really matter!🤮 Nice headache is what followed, unfortunately making a living for some seems like neglectfully done at the cost of others well being?

Better quality ingredients and preparation would logically produce better profits and a genuinely better reputation for such a joint, but that needs to be valued… this place has potential, but apparently no will or awareness!

Completely different location, however “Los Tacos #1” or “Santo Taco” seem to offer a quality that is wanted/expected (clean tasty and properly prepped meats and vegetables) cost wise the difference is merely cents in most...

When in the heights, you can’t go to a fast food chain, you need to try a taqueria like La Placita! I was looking for a place to eat after leaving the Columbia U hospital nearby and saw the very cute napkin holder in the front window and was hooked because I just knew whoever picked something so adorable knows more things too like how to serve really great tacos and horchata was great too!

Then when I walked in and saw they had orejas and buche, I was in the right place for the less usual cuts!!! I was not disappointed by my choices and next time I look forward to come back to eat this food again after my nearby...

The bistec torta from here was so good, I went back three times in two days. I also tried enchilada con salsa verde and another bistec platter, which were good, but I still like torta the best. I will be back for more tortas!

I paid with a credit card for the first time via the card machine by the cash register. I found it weird that I got charged via square app on a personal phone to 'Ismael' (shows up as beauty/barber shop) the second time I was there. I paid with cash the third time I went there as I didn't want to deal with the weird charge via the staff's...

I ordered Huevos Rancheros and a shrimp taco. The Huevos Rancheros are not really Huevos Rancheros. The sauce is a plain tomato sauce. It is not Ranchero salsa. They add chorizo to it, which is odd. The eggs were over cooked. They were fine for what they were - more Huevos a la Mexicana. The shrimp tacos are Baja style. That said, the batter was not overused. I could actually taste the shrimp. The presentation was beautiful. The presentation of the rice and beans was adorable as they are served in a tiny cazuela! The restaurant dining area is cool for such a tiny space.

Got a large takeout platter of carnitas, carne asada and pollo tacos (they were out of al pastor) in a large platter as well as some birria tacos. Everything was simple without too many ingredients and traditional fixings. It tasted great/homemade and there was quite a lot of filling in each taco so it was even more food than I anticipated! Value wise it was also very affordable! Will definitely be having it again.
