I recently visited 7th Street Burger in Astoria, and I’d say my experience was very middle-of-the-road. It's the kind of place that isn’t bad but also doesn’t exactly "wow" you. If you’re in the mood for a quick, cheap bite, this spot might do the trick.
First, the prices are definitely one of the highlights. You really can’t beat a single cheeseburger for just $6.50, and if you’re feeling extra hungry, the double cheeseburger comes in at a reasonable $9.50. For those on a budget or just looking for something simple, this is a big plus. However, the burgers themselves left something to be desired. They were quite heavy and very oily, which can be a turnoff if you prefer something lighter or more balanced. The taste wasn't bad, per se—it had that standard fast-food cheeseburger flavor—but there wasn’t anything that stood out either. It’s not the kind of burger you crave again the next day.
One thing I did appreciate is the availability of Mexican Coke. It's always a treat to find that option, especially since it has a cleaner, more refreshing taste compared to the regular version. It was a nice complement...
Read moreInsanely tasty and delicious burgers!!! Frankly, I'm not great fan of burgers, but this piece of heaven is a must if you visit Astoria, Queens. They opened this location 2 weeks ago, quite minimalistic approach, sterile ambient, VERY simple menu (7 = seven items!!!), and attentive (and fast) service. I don't need more than that. Fries very good, in my Top3. The meat has a lot of flavor, nice after taste. The burger is not too greasy. I saw 3 guys working in the kitchen, that's why you don't wait your order too long (up to 5min). Nice, not too loud music. Thumbs up for that. Kudos for Mexican coke, it is hard to be found. There are 4 tables for 6 people inside, and some standing tables. My server was Matthew, great attitude and knowledge (give him a raise), he even gave me a Free Burger Coupon! They have several locations across the city. They are open 7 days a week from midday to midnight, on Fri and Sat they work until 3am! I'm nicely surprised with this place, and it doesn't happen to me so often. Welcome to Astoria, 7th...
Read moreI tried to find a reason not to give 5 stars but couldn't. First and foremost the food quality - burgers are amazing. The taste is so good. It's top of the top even though they are pretty basic. They messed up my order and gave mine to someone else perhaps because they got the names mixed up or something but not sure. Due to this the cashier gave me an extra fries for free and all in I got my order pretty quickly after that. The restaurant has plenty of places to sit if needed if you need it even though it's pretty plain. They gave a local artist free bags of food who was outside performing as well. It's obvious the staff is happy to work there which is a great sign. The food is really tasty. Next time though I will order more if I'm hungry because a double with fries wasn't enough to fill me up. It's not quite a five guys in terms of size but it tastes better for what it is. Price is relatively reasonable compared to similar things. Definitely will return when possible. The burger is...
