The place is a neighborhood staple and I refrained from writing this review for a couple days because the kids that work in there are sweethearts, but I’ve been burned more then once now…for starters it seems like whoever is running the place whether it’s a manager or the owner I couldn’t tell you but regardless he’s a miserable person thankfully, he isn’t in there too often so you don’t have to see that depressed mug or hear him talk to the girls like crap too often & the bulldog walking around like she’s in the iron workers union, like she’s back there building a high rise, calm down you’re baking cookies… sometimes I go in & there’s either one of them walking around And talking like They are doing you a favor serving you there semi stale products at three times the amount they should be charging…. Listen, I have no problem spending good money on goods & services as long as you get what you’re paying for… But these guys definitely push the limits of “fresh” on some of their items & When you’re having guests it’s embarrassing if stuff is beyond a day or two old and lost it’s zest so to speak… anyway, I’ve been biting my tongue for month's. My wife keeps sending me there even though I tell her I hate spending money there but after this past weekend, I’m done, enough is enough. I’ll take the ride to a further bakery At least I know I’m getting fresh stuff from people that appreciate your business and not act like they just did you a solid slinging you some sour cheese cake and gravel topped crumb cake. Respectfully, Get your acts together and stop...

DO NOT BUY OCCASION CAKES FROM THIS LOCATION. We ordered a sheet cake last week for a baby shower. Call up in the morning the day of pickup and they tell us they don’t have the cake and we never ordered it. We explained that we called on Tuesday and placed the order over the phone and our credit card was charged from that location. The woman on the phone was so nasty and kept insisting we must have ordered from the victory blvd location. She also said “I was the only one here Tuesday and I remember every order I take and you did not place an order here” and “I just checked every single cake here and it’s not here”. We asked if there was anything they could do since we need a cake for this shower and she responded “ I don’t know what you want me to do I can’t make you a cake in 5 minutes”. We asked for a manager and she said there was no one else there. So my husband drives there from New Jersey instead of our family picking the cake up as planned to straighten everything out and miraculously the manager finds the cake! The one that we never placed an order for. After the other employee checked every single cake. While the manager was kind and courteous it was not worth the hassle to deal with this nasty employee and such a waste of time on a morning we were busy preparing for an event. If you need to order from somewhere reliable order from...

I have been going to this Alfonso's for as long as I could remember, but for a very long time, they are so inconsistent. Sometimes you get things from there and it's great but most of the time, it's just terrible. Stuff is stale, taste old or sour. Just barely edible. Recently I purchased a cheesecake from there for 27.99 and it was the case. It was sour and tasted just old. Was the only dessert I had for the night, and no one could eat it. I also got 2 semolina rounds, one of which was good but other was burnt. Tasted terrible. I was told I could come in and get "store credit" not a refund. When I got there with the cheesecake and the burnt bread I was told I would only be getting a refund for the cheesecake, not the bread because the "boss" didn't feel that it was burnt even though they took the bread from me. I was then asked if I asked for a non burnt bread. Really? After some argument, I got a refund for the bread and cheesecake, only to get more stale, terrible tasting items. The "boss" wants to charge people extraordinary prices for things, and sell people things that are barely sub par. To me, they need to reevaluate what they are doing with their business. I see alot of complaints about being inconsistent. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed and will not...

Seems like the quality is declining. Got half Italian Cheese cake and OMG, it looked like it came out of the trash or it has been in someone’s basement for a week. Not only the visual condition of it was disgusting, but it tasted like a cardboard mixed with a shoe. I was very disappointed and feel like I was robbed and paid for something that went straight to the trash. In addition the bread has been hard and didn’t seem to be fresh. It is disappointing that the prices go up and quality going down.

DO NOT BUY YOUR CAKES FROM HERE!!! Please look at what they charged me $200 for!!! And this is after I bought the cake back to have them fix the design (I wish I would have taken a picture of the design before but it was as if a 5 year old decorated it). The saving grace which should have been the flavor of the cake was AWFUL!! Please do yourself a favor and order from Cake Chef or Piece of Cake. Honestly I’ve also seen better decorated cakes at Stop n Shop. What a terrible experience.

Has been a part of the neighborhood for years. The products they produce are well made and we never had an issue. The fresh breads are great. We particularly love the Meat Bread. Prices are extremely high (40 dollars for a 2 pound of cookie tray). A 5 pound tray had a price of 98 bucks!!!! INSANE Personally I think bakery prices are way too high recently, The staff are very friendly and helpful. Owner or manager seems very hands on and looking for improvements.
