Story time! Whew! Where do I start?! Usually when trying a new spot, my girls and I like to get there early to scope the place out and to get a table without the hassle, and to of course dodge the wait time. We were quickly seated and our waitress Brittney (who was very sweet) greeted us and provided the QR code so we can place our order. Oh, before I go on, we were sold on the advertisement posted on Allure's instagram; Soca Friday's--10 dolla dranks, 10 dolla hookah, 10 dolla "food" (I am guessing appetizers). Either way, we were sold! Our first round of drinks and hookah was on point, the DJ was rockin' and we were having a good time. Things changed when the owner of the place walked in, with a hoodie (on his head) and sweat pants. (We got there around 7ish-- the owner got there around 9ish maybe). His energy was very dismissive, rude, and non approachable since he walked in. By this time, the spot is getting a little more packed. While we were in the middle of ordering another round of drinks with Brittney (probably round #3), the owner walked up to her, started yelling at her, and was pointing at another table! Just wow. Brittney walked away (didn't finish taking our order btw) and when she returned about 20 mins later, she apologized and we empathized with her. At this point, it was obvious Brittney was flustered and appeared very overwhelmed--even forgetting to bring our water to the table. We're still trying to make the best out of the night..up until the owner walked up to us and repeatedly asked, "are y'all leaving anytime soon?" We told him we are not sure and we're still hanging..taken aback, I asked "Is there a problem?" His response before walking away, "I'm just asking a question sweetie." We felt pressured to leave so we got ourselves together to do so and asked for our check. Another surprise! Our drinks was NOT $10 and 4 rounds of drinks, for 4 people turned into a $400 plus bill. Brittney politely settled it for us. One of my girls tried to talk to the owner about his attitude and he told her "if this was a white establishment, y'all would have left." What does that even mean?! Smh. We were later told there is a 90 minute limit for a table-- the owner said, "y'all are just sitting there!" What?! We're sitting here ordering rounds of drinks, (some got food to go) and supporting your horribly ran establishment! The owner bullied and belittled his staff openly in front of customers!
I believe in constructive feedback and I hope this review can enhance the overall environment at Allure. I understand running an establishment comes with its challenges but open, respectful communication and a positive atmosphere is crucial for customer...
Read moreMe and my friends decided to check out allure after finding it on instagram. It was promoted for $10 drinks hookah and food. When we arrived the place was empty. The bartender and waitress were so sweet and had great customer service. The place was a vibe the music was good, we’re ordering drinks and hookah all throughout the night. The problems started when the owner came in. First off he approached our waitress while we was ordering and reprimanded her for something pulling her away from our table mid order. So unprofessional. Then he proceeded to approach our table while we still had full drinks and hookah and ask are we leaving any time soon. Meanwhile my friend had just ordered food and we had ordered another round of drinks. When my friend asked why he proceeded to state im just asking a question sweetie. It was clear at this point he overbooked tables due to the place starting to get packed and felt like we were there to long so he was rushing us even though we were still spending money. One of my friends politely went to the owner and asked why we was being rushed although we was still ordering. He proceeded to say well yall had 90 minutes( we were never told about a seating lmit) then he said if this was a white establishment yall would of left. After this we did not hesitate to When we received out bill it was almost $400 there were a few errors which Brittany and the bartender quickly fixed. they promote $10 drinks but nothing on the drink menu is $10 you have to ask them what drinks you can have for $10 which was never explained to us. I believe this place has potential and we were really enjoying ourselves. But the owner is so rude, unapproachable and unprofessional i will never return and spend...
Read moreThis past weekend, three of us visited an absolute treasure on the Upper West Side: Allure Restaurant & Lounge at the Hotel Belleclaire. It was an extraordinary experience through and through— from the delicious meals to the warm ambiance and the impeccable service. We started our culinary adventure with shared appetizers: luxuriously served caviar with bellinis and traditional accompaniments, alongside chips and dip featuring irresistibly warm, crispy russet potato chips fresh out of the oven. The journey continued with vibrant chopped salads brimming with fresh baby kale, baby beets, haricot vert, celery, mushrooms, and crispy spiced chickpeas, all dressed in a rich Mediterranean vinaigrette. The main courses were a true highlight, presenting us with perfectly cooked salmon, tender roasted chicken, and visually stunning purple mashed potatoes. We wrapped up our pre-Easter celebration with a delightful bread pudding that was simply out of this world. I am absolutely thrilled at the thought of returning for their Sunday brunch. To me, Allure Restaurant & Lounge is not just a meal out; it's a memorable dining experience that I personally highly recommend...
