Bagel Bob — Restaurant in New York

My family and I have been going to this store fore years. The food was great, prepared well and the prices were in line with every other like bagel store. During the pandemic, the original owner and wife turned it over to his son and daughter to operate. They immediately turned it into a Manhattan type store. I won’t go into the details of negative changes to the taste of the bagels now being made. I won’t go into details of the horrendous price increases. My wife can’t eat too much salt. So I get her a cinnamon bagel each morning. I normally get a bagel with scallion cheese. Twice recently I went home and opened my food wrappings with salted bagels and a type bagel I did not request and plain crème cheese. Today, I went into this store and ordered 2 cinnamon bagels and a buttered roll with American cheese. I specifically told her not to toast the roll. Immediately after she took the order she had her hand out for my money $6.70. I paid her but watched closely as she prepared my order. She took two hard bagel and tossed them into a brown bag. Then I watched her remove a roll from the toaster. I immediately stopped her and told her I asked that it not be toasted. She frowned, grabbed an exposed roll (pretty much stale). She then smeared butter on the roll and I watched her place a single, thin and rather small piece of American cheese on this sandwich. She had the audacity to charge me $4.50 for this sandwich. Bagels are $1.10 each. She wrapped it immediately thinking that I wouldn’t notice. I immediately approached the son and complained and was greeted with just a stare. Good afternoon everyone, Wanted to give a review for the nice bagel place located conveniently right in my neighborhood. This is a family owned place, very nice convenient atmosphere, everyone is very very friendly ALWAYS. I love getting breakfast from these guys bagels are yummm delish , all kinds of sandwiches, omelettes anything you want , everything is always very fresh and prepared and packed professionally. I love coming there for lunch too, the guys have awesome chicken teriyaki , Ramen soup , Dumpling soup( very delish I must say) , fruit salads , different kinds of drinks and ohhhh I must mention they have a professional coffee machine that makes awesome lattes , americanos, macchiatos both hot and ICED ( love those in summer), they also have a nice smoothie station( real smoothies with real fruits and juice) . As well there is a nice neat and clean sitting area where you can enjoy your food and drinks right on the spot. I must say this place is very clean and well maintained. I walked in and noticed I was the only customer inside the store. shockingly , consider bagel stores are usually packed for morning breakfast. I should have walked right back out and not ordered anything from this store. The older gentleman who took my order was very nice. I ordered a plain bagel, with butter. I noticed right away their bagels did not look fresh. The younger gentleman was the one who prepared my bagel. He took the bagel to the back to toast and buttered it. He asked if I needed anything else, I said no thank you. I tell you when I got to work and bit into that bagel I wanted to go back and demand my money back. I didn't!
