Our dinner here was pretty much a train wreck from start to finish. Here are some of the highlights: Wait staff/manager were inattentive/absent and even rude at times, even though we were literally one of only two tables occupied on a Saturday early evening. Food was very meh. The shining star was the prosciutto and burrata salad, which was delicious. The meatball appetizer (which was delivered to the table barely warm) and the cavatelli pasta both tasted like something from the frozen foods aisle. We ordered a bottle of red wine. It was brought to the table warm. Not room temp, actually warm. The “ice bucket” was basically a clay vase with five ice cubes at the bottom. Surprise surprise, the wine never fully chilled to a decent temperature. The bugs. Ok, this wasn’t their fault. Crazy gnats outside (wine, I get it) so we decided to move inside. The table inside was sticky to the touch, yikes.
Bottom line, we couldn’t get out of there fast enough and won’t be coming back. Seems like some of these restaurants on Vanderbilt think they get an easy pass bc of the street closure on...
Read moreWe didn’t like our food. Soup was very mild and lacked salt, salad was pretty bad too. Lasagna and Eggplant parm were OK'ish and pasta was meh and super overpriced. It'd be an OK rating if it wasn't priced like a fine Italian restaurant which it isn’t, it’s more like pasta you’d get in a...
Read moreAmorinas always had a special place in my heart. What once was a comforting memory of family outings and hearty Italian home cooked styled meals is now to be let go. Ordered my favorite pizza tonight ($21.50) and was utterly disappointed with the size of the pizza when it arrived. It was about an inch and a half smaller than what it usually is. Also ordered a pasta and was dissatisfied with the presentation of it. Pretty sure they nuked it in the microwave because of how bloated the pasta looked. It's a sad thing to witness a passionate restaurant nuke your dishes and downsize on portions. I spent a total of $40 tonight on dinner for my boyfriend and I and we are still hungry so we're making grilled cheese.
I get that rent must be expensive to keep up a small independent restaurant but I'm sorry, don't rip off your customers it's just bad business practices. Unfortunately will be parting ways and bringing my business to...
