Christina took our rooftop patio from 0 to 100, filling it with attractive, easy-to-care-for plants that aligned with our various preferences. Everything she has recommended and planted—from a young tree, to evergreen shrubs, to annual flowering vines—has thrived. Along the way, she has also taught me (a gardening novice) a lot about how to select plants and care for our garden.

Christina is highly resourceful, adaptable to changing needs, thoughtful in her recommendations and advice. She knew what plants would do well on a rooftop and when they tend to flower, so all spring and summer long, we have an evolving flowering oasis. In the fall and winter, we have evergreens and grasses to maintain visual interest. If that isn’t enough, she is also a delight to work with, with an infectiously positive can-do attitude. She and her crew have always been on time and worked efficiently while here. She even sends me a reminder to shut off our irrigation system for when winter when the weather no longer calls for it.

Christina Brown Gardens has made our building’s entrance, at 10 Plaza Street, the pride of our Prospect Heights neighborhood. As our gardener since 2017, Chris has transformed our bare, stark exterior into a beautiful flower-filled landscape with shaped shrubs framing our entrance, tree beds and containers. She understands our vision and consistently provides plants of the best quality and variety. Every year we have a fresh look and the landscape looks great through every season. She and her team also efficiently take on special projects. They installed and painstakingly painted five large containers, then added evergreens along with annuals providing wonderful new colors, textures and interest each year. Last year, Chris further excelled by assisting with our tribute to a young neighbor's remembrance plaque, surrounding it with brightly colored annuals that reflected the occasion.

Chris and team did an amazing job with my roof deck. I didn't have a great sense of what I wanted, but from the initial consultation she was so helpful providing different options and suggestions, and making sure everything worked with the location (which can get very windy). The plants she selected are beautiful and what I had in mind without being able to describe it well, and the pots we selected together look perfect. She also installed a watering system which is really easy to use and you hardly see it. The day of the installation, she was on time and communicated well. Her team worked quickly (including getting everything up to my 5th floor walk up!), and were super tidy moving everything through my apt. All in all, just what I was hoping for-- I can't...
