I will not be supporting this place again. Their customer service is straight up trash. At first I was very excited about this new sushi place close by, the food seemed pretty good and I ordered quite a few times, no problem. Today I made an order and they forgot 2 items, ok, cool mistakes happen so I called back to let them know. They didn’t want to bring the items, instead asked for me to go pick them up when THEY forgot. They finally agreed to deliver the items, an hour passed, I called back and a woman on the phone said they had delivered the items even though I never received anything, she then became very dismissive, said would call me back and hung up on me. In the next half hour I called five times and they purposely did not pick up my call. Finally a man picked up, with the original woman in the background, still saying they delivered the items and accused me of lying. After going back and forth for a hot few mins, turns out THEY got the apartment wrong, didn’t apologize for their error, were extremely rude and dismissive, and hung up on me. After 2 and a half hours since initially placing my order they finally sent my items! That is not a good look nor the way to treat customers especially as a new business trying to attract and build a customer base. They seriously need to learn a few things about...
Read moreFirst time customer. Found the place strolling the neighborhood one afternoon. Sushi box that a chef was making behind the counter impressed me immediately, and how clean and very neat things were, so I wanted to give this place a try. With two booth at the premises and people there, I opted to pick up the menu for later delivery. Order for two via their website: Age Tofu, Takoyaki, Sushi Regular with miso soup, and Dancing Eel Roll. Everything looked good, and tasted fresh and amazingly delicious, my mouth didn’t want to stop. Sushi rice to fish proportions were generous yet perfectly bite sized. Delivery person was cordial and nice. Cash to driver was the only option via restaurant website, but payment details are laid out clearly and it was easy to adjust the order or tip to match the cash I had on hand. Ordering online was super easy, and arrived earlier than expected. I will be glad to purchase again, and also consider Amsterdam Sushi...
Read moreNew favorite sushi place in the neighborhood! This place is very comparable to Geisha sushi, but more convenient because it’s across the street from CCNY. Both have the 2 and 3 roll specials. Geisha has a student/Yelp discount, so I would go there to get the lunch specials + discount. Geisha also has a nicer dine-in area. Amsterdam has the specials all day, AND WHITE TUNA included! I go to Amsterdam if I’m craving white tuna or it’s not lunch time anymore (really only for take out though). The owners are friendly as well, such a welcome addition to the area. Side note: Amsterdam sushi’s prices and variety are much better than at Sushi Sushi (which has a more expensive lunch special, a laughable selection of rolls included in the lunch special, and no student discount). Not affiliated with any sushi places, just my two cents as a student living in the...
