I just had a very surprising experience with Sushi Sushi. I placed an order with Sushi Sushi and used their 20% Off Code. It was about 10:30 pm and I got a call about 20 minutes later and an employee said I couldn't use the discount code because someone at my address had already used it (my roommate) This restriction wasn't clear on the menu that the restaurant provided. (I have included the menu pictures for reference) The employee said my food was ready but I could only get it if I paid $4 and some change to make up the difference of the discount. Since their menu didn't specify this stipulation I asked if they could just send it and I wouldn't use the code again. They said things like "we won't budge on this" "we can cancel your order and refund you." As a customer who was relying on this food for my night I was completely astonished at the unprofessionalism of this restaurant. I'm truly having a hard time communicating everything that happened. After a few minutes the employee said that they couldn't deal with me anymore because they had a bunch of other orders to deal with. (As someone who's worked in restaurants for 8+ years I understand the stress and trouble something like this can be) I requested my food calmly but also stated I expected the discount and I was going to write a review explaining my experience. In response the employee said "well, it's just be better if you canceled the order and didn't write the review." I responded that I was relying on the food and expecting it and without my consent the employee said that they were going to cancel my order and to have a good night.

I have to say the sushi was beautiful when it came. But it isn't so pretty coming back up this morning. I gave a little leniency when the sushi wasn't all that cold when it was delivered. I get that it had to be transported. But I ordered hot items (tempura) and sushi, and they packed them in the same bag. No no number 1. The sushi didn't taste bad, but it also wasn't as tasty as it looked. The nori was chewy and stale tasting. The tempura was a little soggy, but I again chalked that up to delivery. Then I got to the dessert strawberry banana nutella roll. GROSS! It was bad enough that they actually used nori in the roll, but apparently whoever prepared it used the same knife as on the fish. It was horrible. Absolute no no. I disgarded the dessert which made me sad because otherwise the sweet rice with banana and strawberry was a good combination. But not with the added fish flavors. I wanted to badly to like this place. They are local, delivery was relatively quick and the food was beautifully packaged. But first thing this morning, I found myself worshipping the porcelain goddess. My stomach still hadn't digested much of the chewy nori. I Do NOT recommend.

Covid-29 has change the lives of many New Yorkers offering us less and less dining options. I was looking for sushi options to take my daughter out for her 11th birthday and stumbled across this cute little sushi place. The server was awesome he made every attempt to acomódate us. He wore a mask as he served and although no one was inside all of the chefs also wore mask. They had this small little outside space. Sushi Sushi offered a really good dinner special. The food was fresh and really good. My dislikes are more related to the surrounding area of the restaurant. I get that we have to adapt to the COVID-19 situation but the garbage bins around the outside dining make it unappealing to sit and eat. Also the bathroom was way too small and more like a combination of a utility room and bathroom. There should also be some better barriers for the outside dining where street parking is allowed. I only gave the 4 stars because of these issues. Other than these things this was a great experience.

Very disappointed. I came back due to a previous decent experience dining in the restaurant. This time I got the lunch special for take-out. There are options for either 2 rolls or 3 rolls with miso soup, or a six-piece sushi nigiri set with miso soup (I went with this option: ~$15 after tax). I chose 2pc of each salmon, striped bass, and tuna.

The only redeeming quality was the fish, and only barely so. The rice was inexcusably mushy, like literally wet slimy mochi topped with fish. One piece of my 6 pieces I could understand, but FIVE?? I can tolerate slightly overcooked rice, but soggy?? Hands-down the worst sushi rice I have ever experienced, and for $15 for 6 nigiri pieces. The prices are comparable to midtown Manhattan ($2-3/piece) without any of the quality to back it up. I cannot explain how the chef would knowingly mold the visibly wet and conglomerated rice into a ball and stick fish onto it. I can only assume they intentionally did so to use up the bad rice on a small take-out order. Not only that, I pulled a bone(!) out of the salmon (~1.5 cm) which is equally also inexcusable. Scales, I can understand to a certain extent, but a whole pin bone?? Hazardous, ridiculous, and neglectful behavior.

The other option on the block is not only cheaper, but does not serve inedible food. The miso soup was decent. I also assume that since I ordered take-out, the staff could care less if I enjoyed the food, as long as I wasn't seated in their restaurant with the potential to complain. Please do better, pin bones can hurt people (never mind be unpleasant) and the very basics of a sushi restaurant, the RICE, cannot be...

I guess the food is good but the service is absolutely terrible. I’ve never had to deal with talking to anyone from the restaurant before because I always order online and have it delivered and the delivery guys are nice. But tonight I was having issues with my credit card online and somehow placed the same order twice. However one had a coupon code on it. So I had to call to have them cancel one order. And then I asked him to confirm which order he was canceling and he just said “I got it.”

Ummm?? That’s literally not what I asked and I don’t understand why the sudden rudeness. Then he continued and said with an attitude “I have to put you on hold. Hold on hold on.” Listen I understand if places get busy. My family has owned a Chinese takeout restaurant my whole life. But I really don’t understand him being rude literally as soon as he answered the phone. He was then getting so angry at me because I used a coupon code “twice.”

Yes I used it for myself and then I ordered for my elderly neighbor in my building. So technically I did. However it wasn’t ordered for myself. I understand the issue and the frustration because of how it looks on their end. Nevertheless this isn’t a reason to be so short and rude to a paying customer. This place has really disappointed me.

All in all, I guess this place is good if you order online and don’t talk to anyone. If you call, be ready to have the phone answered by an angry guy who is not helpful and basically attacking you for using a coupon while gaslighting you when you tell them...
