St. Nicholas Park

We could use better parks department support and a more noticeable neighborhood focused profile from the park (more events public art and West Harlem history and youth events/involvement) but the park that is a crossroads for students professionals, locals tourists and history buffs as well as public housing residents and residents of the surrounding historic Harlem enclaves remains one of the most romantic and well lakes out green spaces in the city in the mid/moderate acreage category. The topography and sun soaked great lawn as well as courts playgrounds geo structures and trails as well as early American land marks like Alexander Hamilton house and the nearby black owned businesses like bentas funeral home make the park in on the hill 8-9 blocks of uniquely west Harlem natural respite in the concrete jungle.
