I was excited to visit this place since I read about it on the Sunnyside Post and I am always happy to support local business. However after visiting I am a bit disappointed, and honestly dont see the value in returning unless its for a special occasion or special someone.

  1. For a place named, promoted, decorated, and priced as italian “gelateria”, you would expect better quality signage, not printed paper or handwritten signs posted with tape. This screams of “improvising on the go”, not well thought planning.
  2. I understand the concept is more like a “boutique”, but given that their main product is gelato, the amount of flavors available was too small for a saturday evening.
  3. Customer service could use some refining. I waited more than 5 minutes for two employees to stop fidgeting with the register and ring me up on a cash purchase. By the time I was out of the store my gelato was already melting.
  4. I had two scoops, coconut flavor and mango flavor. Both tasted great. Serving size was rather small in my opinion.
  5. Feels like the place was rushed to open thinking of it as an extension to their restaurant, and not as an independent business concept (which by the way can make much earnings since its the only gelateria on sunnyside/qns blvd).
  6. My advice would be to research other high-end gelaterias in the city and copy what makes them a good business. Offer the classic stuff but also incorporate things that sell good with younger generations like gluten free, vegan, sugar free, dairy free, etc.. Also make the experience feel like its worth the price being charged, with good presentable signs and equipment, and attentive...

This is my first ever review. Excited for a gelato place to open in the neighborhood but our experience was poor.

Went with my girlfriend and her mom who were discussing what flavors to get. We were not greeted by the people behind the counter who were busy talking to each other nor were we offered samples despite us being the only people on line currently. People after us was greeted/ asked to be helped and offered samples when the store got busier. We asked for 4 scoops in 2 separate cups which was misinterpreted and we only got 3 scoops but we just paid and went on with our business since they seemed rushed. My girlfriend paid almost $11 for 3 very small scoops; I thought we had only got 2 scoops but there was a tiny scoop hiding under another one. For similar prices in the city, we’ve gotten more gelato. I looked around and saw people had gotten more in their same sized cups than us, as well as a small black napkin which were on the gelato counter which we did not receive.

So why did we receive this treatment? We were the only ones in the store who were speaking in a non-English language (I won’t specify what language but we are Asian). I’m honestly surprised since we had never experienced this at any other place in the neighborhood and I’m hoping this was just a fluke. All the little details we experienced are just adding up to be a little suspicious. The gelato itself was okay from the little we...

Arcobaleno Gelateria is a charming neighborhood spot that brings an authentic taste of Italy to sunnyside queens one scoop at a time. From the moment you step inside, the vibrant display of colors and the inviting aroma of fresh waffle cones let you know you’re in for a treat.

The star of the show? Without a doubt, the Nutella gelato. Creamy, rich, and deeply indulgent, it strikes the perfect balance between the unmistakable chocolate-hazelnut flavor and a silky texture that melts beautifully on the tongue. It’s not overly sweet, which allows the Nutella to shine in all its glory.

Other flavors looked equally tempting, and the staff was friendly and happy to offer samples. But once you taste that Nutella scoop, it’s hard to consider anything else.

Brilliant gelato with 10ish flavors (3 sorbets) at great prices ($6.50 for 2 scoops on a waffle cone) with good portions. They allow sampling and also have a nice coffee and Italian dessert collection. Definitely recommend. Their pistachio is definitely the best pistachio gelato I have ever had and the passion fruit sorbet was also really nice with a wonderful (a bit strong) tart flavor. They also have a good amount of indoor seating.

This was a cute little one stop gelato shop. Gelato was solid and I thought it was cool that they had edible cups as an option! $10 minimum on credit card as of this writing. Nothing super spectacular about this shop but there doesn't need to be. Cute calm vibes, space in the back for seating, one stall restroom, and good gelato! Worth a visit in the neighborhood when that gelato crave is real!
