While I only order burgers from here rarely, the reason I order from them irregularly is because of their irregular, completely unsustainable hours and mediocre staff.
Please find me a diner, any diner, that has these kind of ridiculous hours. No diner can survive on operating from 9am to 9pm. No diner. Especially in post covid New York. I don’t know if they’re planning on shutting the doors soon but if they do, i’m hoping a real diner opens up here and provides a proper diner experience.
Couple of suggestions to accomplish that:
Pass all your food safety and health inspection requirements (apparently this is something they’re having an issue with given the recent reviews…).
A diner operates on a 14-16 hour schedule at a minimum. That means opening up for the morning crowd of people who actually work for a living. You remember those people, right? The people that get up at 6am. Additionally, no diner closes before 11pm on a weekend. That’s just a rule. Anywhere. It’s doesn’t require explanation.
Hire a staff that understands customer service. Every time i’ve gone in there, the wait staff never provides complementary water or anything while you’re waiting to pick up food. The previous establishment did this without even asking. It was a beautiful display of caring and repeat business. Something the current staff could care less about.
For the love of god, put in better lighting! It is the darkest, most depressing diner anyone could ask for. No one of quality wants to spend any time in your dimly lit cavern of an establishment.
I hope this has been informative and educational.
Sincerely, Someone who gives their money to the better diner...
Read moreFirst time reviewing a restaurant My family had the worst experience during Mothers day. Firstly the waiter got our orders wrong, 3 plates in total was wrong as well as my plate. Nobody said anything but I was the only one who sent my plate back because idgaf. Secondly after finishing and eating, the waiter had the audacity to tell my uncle that the "system was down" so no credit cards. My uncle had to get out and walk 5 blocks for an ATM to pay in cash. The workers were sneaky to tell us AFTER we all ate in order to not lose the party of 6. There were 6 of us in total expecting to not lose a tip. Thirdly, we ask a worker to take a photo of the family, of course in a nicely manner because why tf are we going to be rude for? ITS MOTHERS DAY. The worker was super pissed for no reason and gave up. I mean, it's just taking a photo of the whole family. In conclusion, these workers hate to take photos so heads up for that. Fourthly, I suggest Pete's Diner right next to McDonald's like 3 blocks down, EVEN CHEAPER and much bigger portions of food than this diner. I wanted to love it but instead regret not dining at Pete's Diner because it was packed. This diner wasn't, it was mad empty....
Read moreI have seen the reviews for blvd diner which made me think should I go or not because I really do care about reviews. A lot of people gave bad reviews about this place but I ignored it and gave them a try.
Next time I will just stick with other people reviews. I walked in there is a lot of people but only one waitress! There was a guy waiter which he was really nice but the lady she was rude from start to end. It would have been great if he took the order but he said I have to wait for the lady.
I ordered the omelette, pancake and other stuff. Quite don't remember what I ordered. The omelette was good, the toast was burnt! I asked if they had smoothie and the girl was like NO I DON'T HAVE. They have blender but don't make smoothie I wonder what is it for then.
I don't know if he was a waiter or the son but he came to my table few times if everything was okay but the lady after she took my order she didn't even bother coming to the table asking if we needed anything or everything is good. But she has the time to go other table and ask.
The toast burnt, the ham are burnt. Just with the waitress it was pretty...
