First- their pandemic closing hours is 9pm not 10pm! Unfortunately I was forced to give this place 1 star or else this wouldn't post. My bf and I wanted to try a local cafe one night and saw great reviews. We went and were denied service. The front girls told us they started the dishwasher and weren't making anymore drinks. They were not closed. We walked half an hour from home for no reason. Why stay open if you aren't going to be serving drinks for customers? The second time we planned to go we called prior. They told us to come before 830pm that they begin the dishwasher. Again- they close at 9pm... Google still shows 10pm but because of Covid-19 they close at 9pm... We got there prior to 830pm and they had already started the dishwasher. She explained how she couldn't make us drinks. I was upset and told her how we were denied already 2 times and they still have 30 minutes until closing... She told us she could make our drinks but without espresso (what's the point). She made it and we paid full price for watered down drinks. These are Starbucks priced items ($5 and up for smalls...) I asked her what the managers name was and she said they had none. I asked the owners name and she said Gary. This was the worst experience ever. Two times. I had to fight the 2nd time just to get a damn frappe on a nice fall night. It was lightly drizzling and she explained that no customers come because the weather is "terrible" and they start the dishwasher earlier....Why keep the doors open?! I still don't get it. She said next time come at 815pm.. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. 45 minutes prior to closing.. Imagine that? Doors open for 45 minutes to tell each customer "Sorry, no service, we began our dishwasher"... I used to be a waitress and I understand you want to run home at the exact closing time... but it's not like that... We would stay open and serve drinks and food until CLOSING. Not 10 minutes prior and DEFINITELY not 45 minutes prior to closing. It was sad to think such a highly rated cafe gave me these 2 bad experiences. It's definitely bad business and horrible to the community that I can't build a nice relationship with a local...

tl/dr - the equipment is good but nobody knows how to use it, so the coffee isn't

The shop has the decor of a quality shop but lacks the actual skill. I was here once back in February and had a pourover that tasted like water. Was in the area again and decided to give this place another chance. Well, nothing changed in almost half a year. When I asked if the pourover will be stronger this time I received a reply that the barista didn't have a pourover at home so she wouldn't know. Seriously? You work in a coffee shop, you should know how your coffee tastes. Then someone who looked to be a manager informed me that if I want it to be strong I should get the medium instead of the large (small isn't even an option) because it's the same amount of coffee but less water. Come on guys, if you are offering pourover as an option at least spend 10 minutes on google learning the correct proportions. Anyway, I decided to try it again and it tasted like brown water again. I went back and asked them to remake it but into a small cup. They were kind enough to oblige and this time it tasted like it should. I don't know why they don't offer small as an option and why they don't scale the coffee proportions with size, but until they do ask for a small. Oh, and their cappuccino was scalding hot - another sign that they have no idea how to...

Incredibly friendly staff with the brightest smiles and a genuine concern for all of their customers. As an individual who comes here often, I have never failed to feel right at home at this fabulous establishment. It is not only a comforting environment with spectacular ambiance but it also serves a delicious assortment of beverages as well as delectable treats for those with a sweet tooth. For days when decisions are a tad more difficult to make, the staff will very patiently and enthusiastically recommend a favorite of theirs.

Additionally, for those naturally inquisitive folks, Gary will satisfy your curiosity by informing you of the health benefits of the various tea blends. And for those with a particular favorite beverage, your regular will be committed to memory leaving you feeling like a very special human being.

This is the perfect spot to do work whilst enjoying the bright sunlight, spiffy humans, and overall aesthetic. You won't regret incorporating this place as your second home, or merely stopping by for an unbeatable refreshment! There is absolutely no coffee shop...
