Mikado — Restaurant in New York

Ive ordered delivery from UE once a month at least it seems and I’ve done a pick up once as well. The sushi is pretty good compared to reg sushi places in Queens. It’s flavorful and even though it’s pricier than other prices you get more protein in comparison. I usually stick to the sushi rolls though I have tried the miso cod fish which isn’t cheap for the portion but it is what it is. It isn’t Nobu cod dish but it wasn’t bad. But I do love their sushi. I usually order for lunch so it’s a lil cheaper but I’m getting it delivered. It’s convenient. I see some neg reviews about them not having a particular item or they’re not serving it that particular style. How can you rate them on something they don’t do? Go to those restaurants then. I have ordered from Mikado so others can try it as well and it’s def one of better sushi restaurants they’ve tried. Especially since that quality place in Rego Park closed a while back there hasn’t been any decent reg sushi restaurants close by. One of the hidden gems of Queens! Must visit if you are craving Japanese food!

Location: It is located in Jamaica Queens. You can easily spot the restaurant because of it’s cherry blossom exterior. The inside is super nice with a lot of Japanese designs.

Service: they are super nice. They even gave me some complimentary appetizers. They are not rushing you unlike other restaurants.

Food: Everything was delicious! SHUMAI: the color despise you, i thought it was not good because its too white but omg its very tasty! MISO SOUP: very comforting! SUSHI SASHIMI for 2: omg it’s a lot of sushi and sashimi, they were all made fresh in front of you! Every piece they took time to make! It was a plate of goodness! TEMPURA ICE CREAM: omg this was good as well, i finished the whole thing! I love how cream the red bean is! And it was fried perfectly!

Price rating: 7/10, it was not bad for food that you will get.

Definitely will come back here and try other items! Must try...

I ordered 2 rolls to go, and i got this: each roll only had 4 lousy pieces for EIGHTEEN DOLLARS! The old owners of this place were very generous and would give you a free California roll with every purchase over $20. They could not stay open because of the pandemic. The new owners are GREEDY! They raised the prices way past what the old owners charged. They used to serve 8 pieces per roll, now it's only 4 pieces for the same elevated price! You can compare the size of each piece to the small containers that the wasabi and ginger came in, not big at all! It feels like i barely ate anything. They've got some gall, but they lost a customer today. Don't waste your money! I'm getting GrubHub next time. I might pay more, but at least I'll get my money's worth.
