HR Kew Deli and Grocery Corp. — Restaurant in New York

I am so thrilled there is new ownership/people running this deli. I use to go to Alba’s regularly, but their service is inconsistent. Can’t ever expect to get the delicious sandwiches I had experienced before on a repeat basis. More often screwing up the order. Pricing got ridiculous (before pandemic) and the quality of sandwiches were not worth the price. They just tend to be more expensive with many of their products.

Then came HR Kew Deli. All I experience there is delicious food and quick service. Never fails. With very reasonable prices. Selena is so gracious and kind. The individual who makes the sandwiches never fails to prepare very delicious food and he makes great suggestions to try and mix it up with the sandwiches and occasional burger (which is what I usually order). If you know, you definitely know— this place is a neighborhood treasure where the bacon egg & cheese hits every single time. Crispy bacon, soft roll, gooey cheese whether in a bagel or a bulkie—perfection in sandwich form.

But wait… plot twist: the real sleeper hit? Their Empanadas and Tacos!

Try the empanadas (trust me), and do not skip the fresh-made salsas. I could put that stuff on everything—and yes, I do, including my BEC. It’s that good. The chipotle one is out of this world!

we tried cheeseburger and chicken sandwich (torta) for lunch. I've to say they were really good, fresh and fairly priced. My husband and son are picky eaters and love their lunch as well.

But what stand out the most was the service. I can't thank enough for how helpful, warm and welcoming were with me and my kids (I was breastfeeding and the lady offered a chair for me to seat while waiting also a chair for my son to eat since we were waiting for our cat to recover in the vet).
