Avenue BBQ Hut — Restaurant in New York

I’ve been a loyal customer of this place for years because the flavors have always been incredible. But lately, it feels like the quality has taken a serious dive. I usually order the lamb, and in the past, it was always tender, flavorful, and satisfying. Unfortunately, that’s no longer the case.

The last two times I’ve ordered, I’ve been really disappointed. One time, I received mostly fatty pieces of lamb with barely any meat, which I mentioned to the guy at the window. I explained my concern, hoping they’d do better next time. But this time, it was even worse—almost nothing but bones with tiny scraps of meat clinging to them. For $25, it’s just not worth it anymore.

I miss how this place used to be—consistently amazing and worth every penny. Now, it feels like a gamble whether you’ll get a decent portion or just scraps. It’s so sad to see the quality drop like this because I used to recommend this spot to everyone. I really hope they take feedback seriously and return to the high standards...

Been ordering food here since they open and every time I order it comes less and less. Today unfortunately it’s a bit too much.I ordered the bbq chicken with macaroni pie and potato salad which they charge extra for. If I could share a photo I would. I got 2 pieces of chicken, a leg and I’m guessing a piece of thigh, the macaroni pie is literally 2 inches square, I measured it and the potato salad sits along side it the same way and on top of it all I requested sauce on the meal because if you ask for it on the side that’s an additional charge and there was non, no bbq sauce neither garlic sauce. Small food businesses are so hard to find. My friend saw this place and asked me if I wanted to try it and of course I said yes. I literally fell so in love with this place.The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food! It made me want more and more. I got the BBQ chicken with fries and all sauce except pepper. When I finally got my food and opened it, my mouth was watering. It had four good-sized pieces of chicken and a good amount of fries. Also, it was dripping with sauce. Presentation was on point and so were the flavors. I would highly recommend Avenue BBQ Hut to anyone, yes!...
