The best bagel shop in the UES, and one of my favorites of all the bagel shops I’ve been to. Not only do they have a ton of bagels, spreads, and toppings, but their menu includes sandwiches (hot and cold), ice cream, sundaes, ice cream bagel-wiches, pizza, and more! (plus salads- coming soon!). Pros: - Friendly staff -Great quality bagels -Fresh ingredients -Menu has a lot of variety! -Good portion sizes -Wallet-friendly Cons: -Typically a (long) line, but moves pretty fast. Be prepared to wait a bit to receive your food though -Sometimes when getting the chicken cutlet, it has bit a little dry -Not a lot of seating available (indoor or outdoor) -Closes at 3pm Every time I’ve come here, there has always been a line - and rightfully so! The people who work here are really friendly and work pretty efficiently. Of all the times I’ve been here, they’ve only gotten 1 order incorrect (and were able to remake the right order quickly). There are a lot of options to choose from, so I’m excited to try more of their menu. I typically get a custom breakfast sandwich but have also tried some of their specialty bagels, which are really tasty. I’d recommend taking your food to-go as there is not much seating available and fills up quickly! I think the only con is that they close at 3pm. I wish they were open a bit later as I’d definitely grab something for dinner when I’m on the go. If you live in the area and haven’t gone here, definitely stop by ASAP, you won’t be sorry. Also, if you’re looking for a job, I think they’re currently hiring ;)

Very disappointing service for the price. I paid $22 for 2 everything bagels with chicken salad and melted American cheese. After I left and drove a few blocks I realized that the cheese was NOT melted. I made my way back to the store to have the cheese melted on 1 of the bagels and was made to wait while 10 other customers were served. After the 10th order went up I asked the server how long would it be another cashier answered “oh well it has to go in the oven so you have to wait” I looked over at my bagel that was still sitting on the counter where the other server had placed it & soon realized that I would probably never get to eat at this rate. I asked for a refund and had to go back to my car and retrieve the receipt. From the time I ordered my bagel up until my refund was a total of 42 minutes! That is way too long for a quick bite to eat. I never received an apology for the error or the wait. This was my second and last visit to this establishment. The food was so delicious the first time that I was actually excited to be in the neighborhood today. What a big disappointment. The pic is from my second and final visit. I don’t understand how the value of good customer service is at such a decline at this place. For the price you would think customer service would be a priority. I took a pic of my receipt (bc the server said she had to keep it) and plan on calling the store manager to let him or her know that they have got to train their front end to treat customers with respect. Oh btw I left a tip of $2.33 which I think was a waste bc I didn’t even get what I paid for.

Very expensive and nothing special. The same plain bagel w/ cream cheese and a couple slices of salmon that is $6-7 in Brooklyn or $ 8-10 in the city cost me $ 14.10 at this place. The above part I wrote 6 years ago. I want to leave a review and found that did it already 6 years. I completely forgot about it otherwise I wouldn’t even walk into this store. Now I edited the old one and added a new review. 2nd review. Thursday, December 26 2024. Remembered that we don’t have any bagels at home for the Saturday breakfast. Parked my car and walk in. I asked the guy (short big, Hispanic salesman) for 6 plain bagels. And asked him to give me the “well cooked” ones. He said “ok” and showed me the cashier. It was a sign where to pay. I paid, picked up the paper bag, took it to my vehicle, put into my shopping bag and hide in the trunk. 6 bagels cost me almost $12, almost $2 each bagel. Now, please look at these bagels. What do you think? My feeling is that somebody already had them before. Or they are from war zone. At Costco or BJs a dozen of bagels are $6 and they look much better and healthier than these bagels with a “Covid 19 look”. These city stores just have a wrong “name or reputation” but they are as bad as most regular stores in the city. Never again here. I’ll drive all the way from Brooklyn to Queens but will buy real bagels.

The Bagel Shop is a Godsend when you want calories in the form of bagels and the schmear of cream cheese. located on the corner of 93rd Street & Third Avenue, this bagel, sandwich, and salad spot is a neighbor gem on the Upper East Side with a good amount of seating and a clean neat interior. the hours are limited as bagelry closes at 4pm each day. the shop is also within walking distance of the East River walking pedestrian path if you want to sit, eat, and people watch. most recently, stopped by here for a bagel and cream cheese. the bagels are quality, so NO NEED to ask for them to be toasted unless that’s your thing. there is a good variety of cream cheese flavors (over 25 including tofu cream cheeses). decided on an onion bagel + Doritos cream cheese (yes you read that right!) the onion bagel was crazy good—flavorful, light crispness on the outside, a good chewy inside. a generous amount of the Doritos cream cheese slathered on the inside of the bagel. the cream cheese tasted like Doritos but was not overpowering—there are bits of Doritos in the cream cheese for that crunch! really satisfying sandwich of carbs and fat that satisfies hangry-ness. bagel + specialty cream cheese, $4.50 + tax + tip the staff are friendly and work hard.
