Avoid this restaurant at all costs!
Our dining experience at Bocca Di Bacco (Chelsea) honestly mimicked an episode of kitchen nightmares. Our reservations were for 7:30PM - we arrived a few minutes early and understandably needed to wait. However, the hostess told us our table was ready while we were finishing up paying for our drinks at the bar. Within a minute she said they gave our table away so we waited about 5 minutes for another. Once we were seated, the waitress did come over to us fairly quickly and we ordered two appetizers and our entrees. That was probably the best interaction that we had all night, as things just kept declining from there. There was a delay in receiving the appetizers but we just assumed it was due to it being a busy Saturday night. We finished the appetizers and waited quite a while without receiving our entrees. We were waiting so long (at least an hour) we were getting hungry and despite there being olive oil on the table, we needed to ask for bread instead of being offered. After receiving the bread we waited about another hour for our food as we were drinking the bottle of wine we had bought. Us and the table next to us asked for more bread and the staff had told us that they ran out. The waitress never came around to ask if we needed anything… ever… so two of the people in our party (and the patrons at the table next to us) kept going up to the bar for their drinks. It was about 2-2 1/2 hours AFTER being seated that we received our food. 2 out of the 3 entrees were ice cold. We had waited so long and been so patient, that we were expecting the food to at least be hot when it finally came out - didn’t happen. At this point, there were about 5 tables around us angry due to the same issues of waiting and receiving subpar, cold food. The managers were MIA. They came and talked to the one table and then disappeared - despite asking to speak to a manager, I never got the opportunity to. The table next to us was told that the manager LEFT. We and many other patrons never got an explanation as to WHY things were taking so long and we never received an apology for the less than favorable dining experience. The whole encounter was unprofessional and literally a nightmare. Even after spending the entire night in that restaurant, we went...

Read moreI recently had a wonderful experience at Bocca di Bacco that exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Eduardo and his team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their friendliness and attention to detail truly made our evening special. The quality of the food was outstanding. Every dish we tried was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The Mediterranean salad was fresh and vibrant, with crisp greens and a perfectly balanced vinaigrette. The mushroom truffle pasta was a standout-rich, creamy, and bursting with earthy truffle flavor. The lasagna was hearty and comforting, with layers of tender pasta, savory sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. What really set the experience apart was the staff. Eduardo and his team were not only knowledgeable about the menu but also genuinely warm and attentive. They accommodated our early arrival without hesitation and made sure every aspect of our meal was enjoyable. The ambiance was lively yet cozy, making it an ideal spot for both groups and intimate dinners.
