To state the obvious, nobody REALLY wants to move during a pandemic. Even under “normal” circumstances, the experience is draining, both financially and mentally/physically - so much so, that people in NYC have grown accustomed to staying put simply because finding, applying for, and moving to a new apartment is a pain in the a$$.

But when an apartment becomes available next door to your sister, just across the park from your office, AND within your budget, you have no choice but to steel yourself for the nightmare application process, negotiating with brokers and management companies and landlords, forking over wads of your hard-earned cash, not knowing whether any of it will ever pay off.

Enter NestApple - run by Georges and Nicole. In our first interaction with them on a late Sunday evening they were not simply available but super-responsive, patiently explaining the process, the timeline, and the competition my sister was facing. From our past experience, we assumed that the moment my sister submitted the application to the management company would be the last time we would hear from them. Instead, Georges and Nicole spared no time or effort in helping my sister navigate a highly bureaucratic process, advocating for expeditious approval of her application and effectively liaising with the landlord to provide paperwork that appeared to be designed to weed out the weak and the non-committal. I know this, because they kept me apprised in their daily emails FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS in which they responded promptly to requests and questions raised by the management company and assisted us in clearing the many hurdles the process involved.

Georges and Nicole know the business of NYC real estate inside and out - the market, the players, and how to get results. More importantly though, they are willing and able to put their expertise to work on their clients’ behalf. They don’t just “go the extra mile” - they run the marathon with you, cheering you on and picking you up when you feel like you will never make it to that finish line. They are not just communicative, but know how to talk to the decision-makers. They are savvy, responsible, respectful, kind, and above all, damn good at their jobs.

Living next door to my sister started as a serendipitous opportunity; but it was Georges and Nicole’s hard work, intelligence, and tenacity that made it a reality. We are beyond impressed and eternally grateful for their help. This was my first experience renting an apartment in the city. I was coming from FL with the tall task of finding a NYC apartment that ticked all the boxes.

I came across NestApple by inquiring about an apartment listing I liked. The one I originally wanted was no longer available. However, Nicole Fishman at NestApple got back to me quickly and asked me for what I was looking for. Once I broke down what I wanted, she put me on a distribution list and I started getting emails of listings with apartments all in my taste. She put me in contact with her colleague, Cristina Casamatta, and off we went!

Cristina was unbelievably nice! She set up all my apartment viewings and if the other broker was unable to show up she would come with me. Not only did she give me her honest opinions but she also filmed the apartment to send to my roommate! She literally walked me around the neighborhood and showed me the nearest restaurants, subway stations, and grocery stores! She told me what I would need being in the city and tips on how to settle in quickly, she really turned into a friend more than anything. Once I told her this was the one she walked me through all the documents and handled the documentation with the other broker. All I had to do was sign and pick up my keys. Best of all they only charge 1/3 of their broker fee! If the fee is 15% they will only ask for 1/3 of their portion.
