LONG REVIEW. PLEASE READ IF DINING IN* I am deeply disturbed by the experience I had at this restaurant. My partner and I have been regular customers, and we always come here for the delicious food and cozy atmosphere. However, our recent visits have left a sour taste in our mouths.
During our two-day visit, we spent over $100 on food, coffee, tea, and drinks. On the first day, we left a generous tip for the great service and delicious food. However, our second day was a nightmare. We ordered dessert and tea, which amounted to $22, but were informed that there was an error in the system, and our payment had to be voided. We had to pay again, resulting in two charges of $22 on our card, totaling $44. This was incredibly frustrating, and we were left uncertain if we would even get our money back.
To make matters worse, we ordered food worth $68, including sesame beef, chicken teriyaki, and rice. But when the food arrived, we were shocked to see that the rice wasn't included. We had to pay an additional $12 for the rice, which arrived ten minutes after the food, leaving our food cold by the time it arrived. We tried to eat it anyway, but it was unpleasant.
As if that wasn't bad enough, we were followed and pressured into giving a $15 tip, even though we had already left $2 for the waiter who was nice. The receipt even had the audacity to suggest a "gratitude suggestion," and the waiter followed us inside the cafe, arguing that $2 was not enough. This was harassment, and we felt uncomfortable and unsafe. After asking to speak to the manager, we were told to not come back.
The only redeeming quality of our experience was one server named Brian, who tried his best to diffuse the situation and even offered us free drinks. Unfortunately, our frustration was so great that we refused the free drink.
The food was great, but the service was atrocious, and we will never come back to dine in. This was a terrible experience, and I would never recommend this...
Read moreUnprofessional, unhygienic, predatory. As a coffee shop lover, this is possibly the most disgusting establishment I’ve placed my feet into.
Asked for less caramel to lessen sweetness of latte. Turned out it was a bit too bland so I asked for the regular caramel amount instead … and the worker said it would be an extra $2…. Even though we already paid for it and wasn’t asking for anything extra. Seemed to be confusion, fine.
Another staff member then proceeds to stir the straw in the drink with her bare hands (no gloves) and passes it back with the straw still in it? No body wants to drink out of a straw you rubbed your germy hands all over. Nearly $7 per latte for this unhygienic practice.
We got 2 lattes and a tiramisu cake and overall felt gross about the entire encounter. On top of all of the poor behavior, the coffee maintained no flavor and the...
Read moreWe loved dinning here frequently. Food is tasty and wonderful, however the service has become horrible lately!
There has been instances in which we have asked the waiter for extra condiments and were told to finish what we have first before asking for more. Now you have to ask for water before they automatically bring to the table. I also believe that when you ask for your food to be packaged to go, not all is placed in the to go containers.
My worst experience was when we left a $12 tip and was followed from our table to the exit, and then to our car by the staff for more money. This was creepy and just rude.
I love their food but after my last experience, I would not want to return. Gratuity is optional in NY but we are always mindful of those that work hard and behind the scene.
Unacceptable service...
