Iām writing this because what happened during my recent visit to Breads Bakery was not simply a matter of poor service ā it was a display of negligence and indifference that genuinely shocked me.
From the moment I arrived, there was confusion among the staff, a lack of basic courtesy, and an overall sense that no one was in charge. When I politely raised a concern about my order being mishandled, the managerās attitude (said her name was Alicia she was of a bigger frame Caucasian lady with a bob cut ā¦) was dismissive and condescending. Rather than de-escalate the situation or offer a reasonable solution, they doubled down with hostility and arrogance. It was unprofessional to a level that left every guest nearby visibly uncomfortable.
This was not a one-off lapse of manners; it reflected poor judgment and an alarming lack of basic customer-service training and leadership. A business with your reputation must ensure managers de-escalate, not weaponize security. I am requesting a formal response from management explaining why this escalation occurred, what steps you will take to retrain staff, and how you will restore trust with long-time customers.
As for the food ā what arrived was stale, poorly presented, and clearly not fresh. It was deeply disappointing from a bakery that prides itself on quality. Iāve been a loyal customer for years, and this experience not only contradicted every standard Iāve come to expect, but also raised serious questions about management oversight and staff training.
I left embarrassed for having brought guests there and disheartened by how little care was shown at every step. Itās one thing to have an off day ā itās another to exhibit systemic disregard for customersā time, money, and dignity.
I sincerely hope Breads Bakery takes this as an opportunity to reflect, retrain, and rebuild trust. What happened today was unacceptable on every professional level, and I will not be returning unless I hear that meaningful action...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI can't even begin to describe how frustrated I am with that store manager! I would give her zero stars if Google allowed me. She is easily recognized because of her high-pitched and narrow voice. She's beyond stubborn, unrealistic, and insensitive ā¦ā¦ I wanted to buy some bread on my way home today, so I walked into the store around 6:40pm. Then I found out they still had the surprise bags available on TooGoodToGo, So I asked her if I could pick one up since it was almost 7 pm. She said, "Sure, just buy one and swipe the code on the app." So, I did precisely that right in front of her. But then, the ridiculous thing happened. Her attitude changed 180 degrees and told me that the app wouldn't let me pick it up because it wasn't 7 pm yet. I mean, seriously?! I explained to her that I had a train to catch and even offered to show her the unique Order ID so nobody else could pick it up. But did she listen? No! She just insisted that someone could still pick it up after me, even though I told her multiple times that each Order ID is unique and can't be reused. It was like talking to a brick wall. She basically tricked me into making the purchase, only to deny me the pick-up. How can someone so stubborn and insensitive to customers' needs even be in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDear all my black sesame folks, Black Sesame Babka is here, but only in March! Breads Bakery has worked together with Molly Yeh to curate this life-changing, indulgent treat. I loved it so much that I recommended my friends to buy together!
ļ¼Black Sesame Babka ($17.50 each, $30 for two) They generously stuff the babka with so much black sesame paste. The rich, nutty black sesame filling pairs perfectly with the sweetness of slightly melted, crunchy chocolate. The top achieves a golden-brown, flaky perfection. The buttery and toasted flavor somehow reminds me of shredded coconut filling in hong kong style cocktail bun (éå°¾å ).
Iām not someone with a big sweet tooth, but this black sesame babka totally won me over.
I heated up the babka in toaster oven at 350°F for 7 minutesāchefās kiss. I was very surprised the baking sheet wasnāt drenched in oil. In fact, there was no oil at all and the babka didnāt feel oily either. Theyāve truly mastered the art of...
