Cap't Loui - Cajun Seafood Boil — Restaurant in New York

My crab legs and drink were good. My lobster was tough not edible---i sent it back and replaced it with an order of fried shrimp which was ok. im giving this restaurant 2 stars for imposing a 18% gratuity to my check without warning before hand. I dined alone my table of service was for a party of one--when asked why i was being imposed with that gratuity without advising me first, the server got offended and took it off.Then he made a rude comment how im making him "work hard " and dont wanna pay the gratuity---who ever said i wasnt going to pay gratuity ? I simply asked for the check and ask why the gratuity was added without my knowledge--I reminded him that i am a customer--asking for a lid and a container to go, or asking for an item not accessible to my disposal---IS YOUR JOB---I felt insulted and he would have never made that comment in front of my boyfriend--- I gave him the $15 added gratuity as he clearly needed it more than i did to ever make that comment to me--but i will NEVER walk foot in this restaurant again. im also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as im sure imposing an 18% gratuity to a check for one person without advising them first has to be a violation of some kind. PLEASE BE FOREWARNED AND LOOK...

I’ve been coming to capt loui for years!!! I recently moved to NY a year ago and was so happy there was a location located near me! However this location is awful! I came in tonight with my daughter the restaurant was empty but we still had to wait for food. They sent out the noodles before the meal which resulted in the noodles getting cold. Before I ordered I explained that the sauce was very oily and tasteless last time and asked that they please be mindful of the oil. Tonight there was no oils and a bunch of salt in 6 months pregnant I cannot consume all that salt when I pointed this out to the server the only resolution she offered was to take the food away! A night that was supposed to be a date night for my daughter resulted in me sitting and watching my daughter eat! Beyond disappointed with the recent quality and lack of customer service capt loui in For Lee will always be top tier! They rank surpreme and food quality and customer service I’m so upset I’m writing this review while I’m still sitting at the restaurant! I DONT RECOMMEND...

I am a huge seafood boil lover and once captain Loui opened in Queens- I knew I had to check it out!

I’ve dined at the South Ozone location atleast 5 times since they opened and never had a bad experience. I’ve even ordered delivery and the food quality remained high.

The servers were always polite, accommodating, and made me feel very welcomed + did I mention the food is good?!

The restaurant has the expected look of a seafood boil restaurant- food pictures on the wall, fishing gears etc music is usually moderately low and adds to the ambience

Food: I typically opt for the lemon pepper fries, lobster roll, whole Dungeness crab with shrimp head on, corn & rice ( sausage too if it’s pay day lol)

Currently no happy hour at this location and no outdoor seating. Reservations can be made but I’ve never had an issue with walking in

My only feedback: the cocktail menu needs some work. The Caprisun drinks are a cool concept but the drinks are either lacking flavor, lacking alcohol or both. Other than that, looking forward...
