Update 1/28/2025 I went back today for a couple of things. I keep forgetting what its like to go somewhere and get everything you need including information how to do something. They even custom cut a clear plexiglass for my window that I'm tired of putting clear shrink wrap every drafty winter. Only charged me for the Clear Plastic panel and no labor for cutting. Imagine this experience at The Depo. Finding a worker, finding the product, being in stock, not damaged, convincing someone to measure it AND CUT IT? I try to support this place any chance I get, I do not want this place to close down EVER.
The place you hoped The Depo was; Stop complaining about no one helping you in the Depo and just come here. Need a key for your car without eb@y guessing and for under $100? Just come here. Have a photo of your leaking plumbing that needs to be replaced? Show the Owner himself or his son and they will give you everything you need and how to use it. Stop guessing and hoping you'll save $1 by going to a big box store only to see its not in stock. See for yourself what a knowledgeable help really looks like.
I've been coming here for over 15 years. And this place has NEVER let me down. Today is no different. I haven't seen this place since the pandemic started and wasn't sure it survived.
Made sure to pay the parking meter its quarter (cuz the police station is very close). And told them about my google searches that said "having a good key copied without the dealer is near impossible". Steve (the son) said no problem and said it'll be under $100 and started to work, always checking in on me updating me on what he's doing.
"Key's done".
I test it out in my car and came back in paid, and left. Flabbergasted, on my drive home remembering how I had just went to HD stood in front of the key machine for 15 minutes after asking for help and just walked away accepting...
Read moreThis place came through when I needed a shovel during the snow storm. I did see the other reviews and I can say the cashier I had didn't have a mask but at least I had two masks and I kept my distance and wear glasses so I should be okay. She should wear a mask though. The guy who greeted me did have a mask though and he was very knowledgeable. I told him I need a shovel that would work best for me since I do not want to lift too much. I brought that and a lightweight ice pick. Mid range in price but these were high quality products and it is from a small business, which I love. I also had a great interaction on the phone with the guy who picked up the phone and who told me the store hours and what they had in inventory. I now have a go to hardware store even if it is a bus ride away for me. They also have Purell products not marked up in price, Lysol wipes, and much more. I also like that it is also off the A train too. Check this place out...

We came to return an item that was never used or even opened, and we had the receipt in hand. Despite this, the store refused to offer a refund or even store credit. The man who helped us was extremely rude and ended up cursing at us and kicking us out of the store. A woman who was also working there was equally rude and dismissive, showing no interest in helping resolve the situation.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve had a bad experience here, but it will definitely be the last. It's disappointing that this is the closest hardware store in the neighborhood, but we’d rather go out of our way than support a business that treats its customers so poorly.
This place needs to understand that they need their customers just as much as customers need supplies. Based on our experience and the clear lack of respect (and possible discrimination), we absolutely do not...
