I visited Checkers to redeem 2 coupons. I was notified that I can only use 1 coupon per transaction. I understood so I made 2 transactions to redeem my coupons. Not only was the cashier reluctant to even honor my coupons, but he literally overcharged me 42% of my order first claiming that prices increased. Even if item prices were increased, which were not according to the menu, I should be paying what my coupon honors. He then looked at my order & coupon and said that it's because of tax. TAX IS NOT 42% IN ANY STATE!!! This man really must have thought I was born 12 hours ago... After paying for my food in cash, I was shorted a few cents. I did not address that because the cashier already had evident frustration with me as a paying customer. If I confronted him about that, I already knew it would have lead to a situation what would not be considered civil. This type of situation reminds me of back when an employee at this very location scammed my bank account using my old checkers app account then deleted it. Ever since then I only used cash at this place. At this point, I will no longer be a customer here. These employees are really trying to swindle me. As far as the food is concerned, everything was overcooked. Fairly warm fries tasting burnt, chicken sandwich sloppy and not well prepared. Will not be visiting again. He informed me that he applied the wrong coupon and I had to pay based off the wrong coupon. After "negotiating" with the employee to fix his mistake and questioning why I should have to pay for his mistake, another employee adjusted the price and still I did not get the full discount of the coupon. Instead, both the wrong coupon and a deduction that was less than the value of the correct coupon was applied. I am completely unsatisfied because not only did I receive an unfair deal with my rewards because of the employees mistake, now I can't even use the other reward coupon that I wanted to use for my final transaction. I ordered a burger without any ketchup or mayo, and added the comment to make it plain so there would be no confusion. I get the food, the order is exactly what I didn’t ask for. I call the store, speak to and employee, who doesn’t help at all. I ask to speak to a manager ( something I don’t ever do) he tells me the cooks can’t really read English. I ask can they replace it and he told me that he can’t get the driver back. Never apologized, never offered anything besides an excuse.
