New China Red Gourmet is not an average Chinese restaurant, but a Tex-Mex/Chinese joint, sounds weird, but has the best of both worlds. I came here try out their Tex-Mex, even though it’s probably not authentic, but wanted to give it a try anyway. The place is actually not bad, considering the selections that they have. I had a mix of beef and chicken tortilla, which by the way, you order by the pound, so I just got some of each to try. I think that the chicken was a bit too dry and a little too charred to the finishing. It takes quite some time to be served, but I guess the cooking takes long. To kill time, just look at their menu options. They have posters and signage of different dishes that are available, something that is not listed on the printed menu. However, if you want Chinese food, you can order from their menu. Nonetheless, the food was ok, but if you’re hungry, anything is good. The place is a bit stuffy, and there is no central cooling system, so it’s best to order out instead. Make sure to ask for specials that they might have, since I believe there is one everyday, just ask and they’ll...

I visited this place on April 18th, 2019 and I ordered Pork Fried Rice small. It took them roughly 45 minutes for my order to be ready. The inside normally is crowded, but this time it was approximately 6:15pm when I got there. Upon receiving my order, at first I wasn't paying much attention, its after 10 minutes into eating the small pork fried rice, I felt I bit down on something hard. I looked, and what it was. It was hard, hard rice that was from the bottom of the pan. It definitely was left over from lunch. The rice was warm, but it seemed as though they reheated the left over pork fried rice and then served it to me. I got sick and ended up in the VA Hospital for 4 days. This wasn't my first visit. Its very popular. People, be very careful and examine your food orders when they give it to you. They like to clse it up and put it in a bag and send you out. Not expecting you to stop & check. Very slick. Let's be food conscious smart and healthy. I really wanted to give this place a bit "F" for...

Let's start from the outset; there are no tables inside the "restaurant," so you have to take away your food. Also, the staff are rude!!! THEY ARE RUDE!

When I went there for the first time to buy a chicken broccoli, the staff at the register communicated with me with not a good tone. I bought the meals 3-4 times from there and thanks for the stuff, I won't go there again.

When I got my chicken broccoli for the first time and opened it, I mentioned that it takes a lot of time to mix them inside the plastic food container with a plastic fork. It's why I asked to mix it the next time when I was buying food from them. The cooks of that "restaurant" have all the tools to do it with no problems, and it's easier to do for them rather than a plastic fork. In response, they said "NO". I said to them, I will buy it in anyways, it is already mine. They repeated, "No, no". Is this your service to the customers?

I don't know how they are still working there with such kind of...

Okay so where do I start first off upon entering the establishment there were only chairs with no tables insight the chairs were beat up and Raggedy with holes in them and the overall cleanliness of the front of the restaurant was dirty dingy and there were chicken bones on the floor that's the beginning I ordered General Tso's chicken and I asked him to make it spicy I had zero spiciness the rice was supposed to be pork fried rice and ended up looking like white rice or a slight yellow tint but it was okay the General Tso's chicken was not spicy at all they were big chunks but nothing really to write home and tell Mom about my girl ordered a half a chicken with fried rice and said the chicken had no flavor and was extremely dry and hard overall you get three stars simply because the food wasn't really disgusting but they had major room for improvement atmosphere is a one-star Services of three didn't really expect much but they wasn't rude catch you on the flipside jack won't be back

Despite the multitude of negative reviews, i still decided to give it a try. Ordered the chicken fried rice and was thoroughly disappointed as it's almost bland and could sense that there was no effort whatsoever in the cooking. Fortunately, the egg roll did help in putting some taste to the overall fried rice. Honestly, i think i can do better in whipping up a simple fried rice than they did. Then again, you pay what you get, I supposedšŸ˜…. Left it as it is in the picture as i do not want to waste my stomach spaceā˜ŗļø. Matter of time that this place would be totally ignored unless they do something about the quality of their dishes🄲😪. Hopefully, it's just my dish that is disappointing šŸ™.

My colleague recommended this place but I was half-hearted and sceptical after reading a couple of negative reviews that were posted recently. I decided to give it a shot. All that changed the moment I took my first bite. Hearty portions of comfort food (meat to rice ratio is almost 50:50!). Pricing is unbelievable in NYC. Reasonable is an understatement. Went 2 days in a row for a quick dinner fix. Panda Express move aside! This place is a no-brainer for your Chinese takeaway.
