Expected better from this high-end Italian chain. Food was generally good (if in-stock), but the environment/ambiance was a let down.
I chose to bring my coworkers here for a going-away dinner for an employee on a Monday night. It wasn't overly busy, but definitely more patrons than a single server can handle. Pretty sure our server was the only one responsible for the whole room, which we appreciate his ability to handle it.
First, ambiance - They sat us at a small round table that was half booth and 2 chairs for the 6 of us, but the round table was really small in diameter and everyone's knees were hitting each other. It's really probably not made for more than 3 or 4, so I got to sit uncomfortable for the couple of hours we were there. The entire upstairs was empty, but that's also where the bathroom, so take note if stairs are not your thing.
Menu-wise is also an experience. They just give you a QR code for you to scan. So every time we wanted to get another drink or something, gotta scan the QR code. Quite annoying.
Food-wise, I actually think the appetizers and entrees that were actually in-stock were pretty good, but nothing over the top amazing. One of the beers I asked for was not in stock and I was given a different beer without asking me. They also had beer that wasn't on menu and I chanced out on one of those and it was pretty good.
My coworker experienced probably the most frustration of the evening where the entrée and the desert he wanted were both out of stock. Unheard of IMHO on a early Monday evening, but he made do. They also never brought him his espresso, but that was addressed in the bill, no worries there.
Now specifically for the food, we got the following for the table: -Meat and cheese spread tray -bruschetta -meatballs
Meatballs were probably the highlight. The bruschetta is on par and the meat/cheese spread tray probably didn't come with enough bread.
Off the specials of the day menu, I got the halibut with truffle sauce and truffle carpaccio which came over broccoli rabe and roasted potatoes. I actually thought this was quite good and probably something not found so easily. I wouldn't necessarily put up with everything in this review to come here to get it again, but I do recommend this dish.
For dessert, I didn't see anything too interesting, so ended up trying something new - torta santa rosalia. Wasn't bad, but wasn't overly amazing.
Maybe other locations are better, but probably gonna stick with more traditional red sauce joints next time for...
Read moreI had an amazing dinner experience at Serafina Tribeca recently, and I can’t recommend it enough. The restaurant has a chic and cozy vibe, which makes it the perfect spot for a night out, whether you’re on a date or with friends. The ambiance is both relaxed and stylish, with modern touches that make you feel comfortable right away.
We started with the famous Serafina bruschetta, which was fresh and bursting with flavor. For the main course, I had the truffle pasta, and it was hands down one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. The pasta was perfectly al dente, and the truffle cream sauce was rich but not overwhelming. My friend had the margherita pizza, which was crispy on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside – just the right balance.
The service was impeccable. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, making great wine recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed. The vibe was lively but not too noisy, which made for a very pleasant dining experience.
Serafina Tribeca is definitely one of my new favorite spots in the city. Whether you’re craving Italian comfort food or just want to enjoy a great meal in a welcoming setting, this place should be on your list. I’ll...
Read moreWent to celebrate brunch for my daughter's 21st birthday. We were a party of six. Host was rude and abrupt. We didn't request outside but that's where he put us. Way off to the side outside of the tent and it was chilly. When asked about serving the cake we bought, he said $5 a person to serve the cake. I was taken back and he said- well you could spend $14 a person for one of our desserts. Not very kind about it. Charge for refills on coffee (no refills! for brunch) they served half of cup- waited a long time for sugar and another wait for cream. Food was mediocre and not hot. We saw the waiter when he took the order and then again at the end. $300 for 5 orders of eggs and a burger. no alcohol. they did absolutely nothing to make us feel comfortable. We were able to ignore the negative and make the most of it but I will never go back. I understand that there is a shortage of staff etc and I am patient but they could have added a touch of kindness since they added no seasoning or flavor to their food or service. Waiter was...
