Costa — Restaurant in New York

We had the opportunity to have dinner at Costa last Friday night--it was fantastic and I am so glad we went! Otto, our friendly and personable waiter, guided us through the evening. We all started with the Apple Salad--fresh and delicious, which we enjoyed with a selection of bread brought to the table. We each had a different entree--Grilled Tuna, Fettucinne alla Bolognese, Costa Burger and Roast Chicken--all of it exceptional. While we were tempted by the special dessert of the day, Tiramisu, we asked to have Mina, the charming bartender, who had mixed tasty cocktails for us, to suggest an after dinner cocktail--she recommended the Espresso Martini, which was perfection. Lovely place, with a number of great options to order. The atmosphere is cozy and hip with velvet seating and painted interior. They also had a live band that played just low enough that you could hear everyone at your table.

My grandmother and I had the tuna tartare, linguine with clams, the arugula and veal and split the pistachio cheesecake. The tuna is perfectly seasoned, served with avocado - my favorite. We had brunch at Costa’s again this weekend. As it was last week, it was this week. First I love the venue, the white table cloths, the banquets, chandeliers and the soothing pale colors. Then there’s the service, when I called last week to make the reservation, I met Otto, then both our servers last week and this week were attentive, and patient as we reviewed the menu, filled our glasses and served the best Bloody Mary’s along with our Omlettes, Crab Sandwiches, Egg Sandwich and Ricotta Pancakes.
