To the Owner - please hire a cashier who is polite and likes her job. I visited Yura's at around 12:30ish on Tuesday, 11/2. After one of the women behind the counter asked me for my order, I clearly responded with "pumpkin pie." I was on my phone and ready to pay when a different woman at the cashier's register, who apparently did not hear my order, asked me to "step away from the line" because I was on the phone. I was a bit surprised by the rudeness and told her that I just ordered a pumpkin pie from the lady who initially asked for my order. This cashier even began arguing with me and I told her again that I ordered a pumpkin pie. The other woman who initially asked me for my order did later apologize and say that she misheard the order. I can understand and cooperate if english is not a first language of some of the workers but I did openly admit that the cashier was rude very rude to ask someone to get off the line, especially considering that I promptly and clearly gave my order after I was asked. Apologies for not getting the name of the rude woman at the cashier's register but I didn't want to argue further and couldn't wait to get out of Yura's. Frankly, I couldn't believe how much nerve this cashier had. I also own a business and I can assure you that people who are that argumentative over small things hate their job and need to find something else to do. Such a silly situation but I wanted you to know about it. (btw - the pumpkin pie is not as...
Read moreI like their daily entree meals. It’s really good quality, even better than some restaurants quality sometimes. Only downside is that it’s a little pricey- $28–$30 per meal. I also enjoy their dessert. The only thing I didn’t like is the soup. It’s a little too salty for me. I’d rather have the soup from WholeFoods. The staff are really friendly. One time I forgot to pick up the rice for my salmon meal. The lady was really friendly about it. The croissant looks like good quality too but I never tried it. There are so many other good croissant places in UES so I haven’t had to chance...
Read moreGreat soups! Friendly staff, but new location is disappointing -- what is with the ice bucket full of sandwiches wrapped in plastic? I've purchased several soggy sandwiches -- this needs to be rethought. I now only go here when I don't feel like walking far from my office, when I used to come for lunch at least 3-4 times a week. Good for pastries to go and catering, but I can't eat pastries and I miss the grab and go food options and prepared foods. Prior to the move this would have been a 5 star...
