My boyfriend and I live around the corner and he was craving Chinese food. We saw on Google that this place recently opened so we thought we'd give it a try.
You walk in and there is a self order kiosk. Unfortunately there are no pictures of the food on the machine, just a few on the wall. I'm visual so I hope they add pictures as time goes on. There is also only one, so if someone else is already there, you'd have to wait your turn.
We ended up getting the egg drop soup ($3.50), chicken steamed dumplings ($8), scallion pancakes ($5.50), the garlic chicken all day combo (comes with fried rice and an egg roll for $12.50, but we got the chicken fried rice for $1 more), and the beef and garlic all day combo ($12.50).
My bf said the egg drop soup was good. The dumplings (8) were good. A little thick in the wrapping but filled with chicken. The scallion pancakes weren't great. Not many scallions and really chewy. If you don't like spice, I'd maybe ask for them whether they can do it milder (like I will in the future). The egg rolls were a good size, filled with veggies, mostly cabbage. We have about half of the entrees left over for tomorrow. Will definitely be back, and love that it's just around the...
Read moreI had the boneless spare rib lunch, which included pork fried rice and egg drop soup. Honestly, the taste was better than I expected, and the portion of rice was quite generous, so I was satisfied. The egg drop soup also had just the right seasoning for my taste. Plus, the price was under $10 before tax, making it a great value, and I was very pleased with the restaurant. After seeing their reply, I realized that they intentionally did not add a tip automatically.
Previous review: I ordered the food for the first time just before and wrote a review before I even knew how it tasted. I will update later. However, it was only after I completed the payment that I realized the tip was automatically added at 15% of the total amount, including tax. It's not about the 1 or 2 dollars, but I'm really angry that they didn't even ask about the tip and just added it to the price that already included tax. They also charged a $1 convenience fee just to use it without a third-party app. That aside, charging a tip without even asking...
