Was super hype to try this spot and was not disappointed. We were two adults with two young kids: one with a somewhat adventurous palate; the other a bit picky. Everyone had something they loved. The Shaxian wontons, can confirm, are great. My pick eater LOVED the Shaxian noodle with peanut sauce. The star of the show, for me, were the pork soup dumplings. The flavor was not like any soup dumpling I've had before. I'll be thinking about those until I'm back for another round. We also got the pork and chive dumplings, fried chicken nugget bento (dark meat, excellent), and a black pepper beef pancake (never had before, am sad I've been missing out all this time). All hits, no misses. I thought we might have ordered too much but it wound up being pretty much exactly the right amount of food for my tribe of four. Frozen food reheated. Terrible food. Don't waste your money on this brand new money grab spot. Soup dumplings are thick and no chew. Just melted meat with MSG soup. My mouth was locked afterward. The frozen soup dumplings i get from my local supermarket are 100 times better. The peanut noodle is so dry and bad.. you need more oil or butter... Fried squid no flavor but salt. No sauce with it. Wontonsare okay but still would never come back.
Customer dining experience is not well thought out. I ordered 4 items and had to go to the counter 3 separate times with 1-2 items on one heavy wooden tray.
If this restaurant was in 86street or 8ave this will be a ghost town...

The one star is NOT for the food, because it is authentic and delish. The one star is for the Doordash delivery driver named Na who picked up my order on 3/21/2024 The Na must have meant "Na, youre food aint coming".
