I have been seeing this place on Hylan blvd for a while now. I finally walked in and got what I expected. A cafeteria lay out of the food. You order what you see. They shovel it into a tin. So far very normal for this type of food. I ordered 1/4 chicken with rice n beans. Again very normal. I went to pay the cashier and the cost was $14.00 bucks. This is not normal. At the highest I can see paying $10.00. Although, I have paid $7.00 on Lafayette in Soho many times for the same food. Anyway, When I got home, I opened the tin and ate. It’s was average - nothing special. I feel robbed paying 14 bucks and will not be returning. The place has a run down atmosphere and not even sure if they had an area there to eat. I recent found a place that has a beautiful atmosphere and a chef that studied under Chef Wolfgang Puck. The place is called “Amira Cafe and Bistro” on VanDuzzer. Their prices aren’t low but reasonable and they have quality food that is very tasty. So if you are in the mood for Spanish food pass by this El Dorado and...
Read moreI visited El Dorado Restaurant Bar & Grill with high expectations for their empanadas, but my experience fell short. I wasn't greeted promptly upon arrival and had to wait before being acknowledged. The hot plate food seemed old, so I ordered 2 beef, 1 cheese, and 1 chicken empanada instead.
During payment, the owner struggled with the register and almost overcharged me, but another worker stepped in to correct the mistake. As I left, the cheese empanada dripped excessive hot oil onto my pants, which was unpleasant. Once I tried the empanadas at home, the cheese one had rancid oil, off-tasting dough, and the chicken empanada had a strand of hair. The beef empanada, though flavorful, had plastic inside, ruining the overall experience.
In conclusion, my first and last visit to El Dorado Restaurant Bar & Grill left me disappointed. I recommend the establishment improves food quality control, enhances customer service, and invests in better air...
Read moreAn order was placed via phone. Two items were missing. I had to call myself to inquire about the missing item and thought i could rectify situation but the person who picked up the phone ( i will update with name shortly) said they were "too busy" to inform a customer that two items were not in stock and sent the order anyhow without notice and laughed. Meanwhile, she took her time on the phone with me. They refused to accommodate my request of sending a replacement item due to their unwillingness to communicate about missing items. The person hung up the phone after I asked to speak to a manager. This place provides POOR quality customer service and excuses for their inability to do their own job which requires very minimal. This is frustrating to customers and embarrassing! Please properly train your staff. My office orders food frequently from this place. I give them zero stars but this app wouldn't process my comment...
