El Gallo Negro 2 — Restaurant in New York

I was visiting from out of state and decided to stop by for tacos with my family, who had said this place had good tacos. While the tacos themselves were decent, the overall experience was disappointing.

Our female waitress was noticeably rude to the women in our group while being overly friendly to the men. It really left a bad impression as we watched her flirt with men around the restaurant.

The chips and salsa they served were stale and unappetizing. The bathroom was in terrible condition, with a toilet seat that was barely hanging on. The tables were wobbly and hadn't been properly cleaned.

The drinks were subpar, and to top it off, they never even brought us water. It took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive, which was frustrating given the bad quality of everything else.

Even though the tacos were good, they ended up giving me an upset stomach later in the day.

I’m not sure if this if this was the best Mexican spot in the area… but man I’m glad I don’t live here. Compared to several Mexican spots I’ve visited around the world, this one was in my top 3 worst...

El Gallo Negro 2 is one of the best Mexican restaurants in College Point — a true hidden gem with incredible food and warm, friendly service. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant atmosphere and aroma of freshly cooked dishes make you feel right at home.

The food is top quality and full of authentic flavor. The Molcajete de Carnes is a must-try — sizzling hot, loaded with grilled steak, chicken, chorizo, and melted cheese. The Birria tacos are juicy and flavorful, especially when dipped in the rich consomé. Portions are generous, presentation is beautiful, and everything tastes freshly made.

Service is consistently excellent — professional, attentive, and always with a smile. The staff really cares that you enjoy your meal. Prices are very fair for the quality and size of the portions, and the restaurant stays open late (until 3 AM!), which is perfect for late-night dining.

Whether you’re dining in or ordering for takeout, you’ll always get great food and great vibes. Highly recommend El Gallo Negro 2 — five stars well...

Whoever was the guy that answered the phone when i called to make my order , does not have any idea of what it is to give good customer service. After placing my order i asked for the prizes of the item i was paying for and noticed that they were higher than the prizes on the menu they had available on google. All i said to the guy was that the prizes were different, referring to the menu in google, and all he said was, " ITHER YOU WANT THE FOOD OR NOT, BECUASE SORS ARE THE PRIZES!!". I incisted, saying that i am not trying to barging for the prizes, all i wanted was for them to understand that the menu maybe could be updated , thats all. Regardles he stick reponded back bery rude and oay no attention to what i was mentioning to him.... if he is like that over the phone, imagine how the service is when you go...
